| Who| Locked to Lyle and Roland What| Lyle's been building traps. It works out poorly for him. Where| Floor 3 When| Early week 2 Warnings| Violence and death
The Legion store looked like it had vomited half its contents out onto the walkway in front of it. Lyle had been busy over the course of the last week.
Naturally, not a single one of the nasty-looking traps he'd built would actually kill anyone – shoddy materials and a lack of appropriate tools, he'd explain later (if there was a later, if they didn't just leave him dead with the same care they'd killed Cosmic Boy) – but anyone who stepped into them would come out the other side with a much greater appreciation for paying the sprock attention to where they put their feet.
Most of the clothing in the store had been put to use obscuring the floor to hide leg-hold traps made from jagged plastic (scratch up the legs a bit, but the jaws would break before it did any worse), a liberal scattering of Lightning Lad electrical buzzers (not deadly, just unpleasant to step on), and patches of Friction Girl car wax (slippery and liable to leave you on your ass. There hadn't been a Friction Girl in Lyle's Legion, but he was happy enough to not have Legionnaire-themed personal lubricants that he wasn't going to complain). A Spider-Girl net had been put to good use holding every single Ferro Lad, Blok, and Magnetic Kid figurines overhead for a dead-fall trap (triggering that one would get maybe one or two Bloks, but the judicious application of Magnetic Kids had fused most of the Ferro Lads into something that wasn't falling out without way more work than that). Several other nets had been made into snares so that Lyle could taunt anyone getting trapped in those.
Lyle tucked himself away just inside the store entrance to keep an eye on his traps. He'd need to steer Brainy through the mess when he got back from his supply run, plus he didn't want to miss an opportunity to taunt or chase (see: assist) any other Tributes who stepped into it.
He really ought to find something to do with these Porcupine Pete toys, though... |

| Who| Locked to Lyle and Brainy What| The remaining Legionnaires hole up in their own store Where| the Legion of Supervillains store When| Early week 1 Warnings| TBA
It had been a couple days since the start of the Arena. Since all the deaths -- including Cosmic Boy's. Lyle’s one source of hope was that they'd died in the Arena. When they overthrew the Capitol, they could find out how they’d been resurrecting the Tributes. Maybe they could still bring them back...
But that was a worry for the future. Right now, he needed to worry about finding a place for him and Brainy to hole up safely, or as safely as anyone could in this rotten death match. Nothing had been adequate so far – they’d gotten new clothes for Brainy, but holing up in an athletics store in the state they were in was going to go poorly (not that there'd been any magno-ball equipment in the store. They might have burnt the place down if it had); and none of the other places they'd temporarily crashed had been adequate for their needs either. They needed a place they could shine, where they could find supplies to provide entertainment for the miserable sprocking squajs back in the Capitol without actually killing anyone.
Still, it was a bit of a shock to peer around a corner and find Cosmic Boy’s smiling face looking back at him. Lyle clamped his throat shut on a noise of surprise.
A mannequin. They'd made a sprocking mannequin of Cos and stuffed it in his uniform as – as what? An advertisement for some sort of Legion of Supervillains-based shop?!
"Well," he murmured softly to Brainy, "I found a Legionnaire trap. Wanna see what’s inside it?" |

| Who| Lyle, Brainy, Signless, Rokk What| The first Hellrena really sucks for the Legion Where| All over town When| Backdated waaaaay back to the first Hellrena Warnings/Notes| Monsters, acrophobia, mauling, and death.
Holing up somewhere safe wasn't really an option when the building rotted around you as you watched.
Lyle moved from shadow to sweltering shadow, going slow enough that Brainy could hang onto the back of his shirt. Getting his invisibility back had been more of a disappointment than a boon -- he couldn't extend it beyond himself and his clothing, couldn't even cover his bag of survival gear much less Brainy too. Brainy's force fields weren't as versatile either, but he could at least cover both of them if they didn't mind sharing space. Wouldn't be the first time they'd gotten up close and personal for the sake of survival, though it would be the first since they both admitted having other-than-platonic feelings about each other. Still, they were professionals, so any awkwardness as a result of that was minimal.
Now he just had to keep the two of them alive long enough for Cos to find them again. Or, failing that, set them up to die dramatically enough that they'd be brought back even if they hadn't confessed their feelings on camera.
"Keep an eye out behind us, Brainy," he whispered, "this is going to be fun for literally no one here." |

| Who| Joan and OPEN What| Stairs are slow going for Joan. Perfect time for an encounter. Where| Stairwell When| Any time during week three! Warnings/Notes| Nothing yet.
Joan had been out of commission for the whole first week, crammed behind a counter, and the second week was spent getting used to limping around with the brace. She was fairly mobile now, able to limp at a passable clip, and she was restless, wanting to explore, as carefully as possible. In the museum floors themselves she was careful to move from cover to cover, to stay away from people. It was between floors that she was the most vulnerable. She couldn't move quickly on the stairs at all, particularly when going up, and there was nowhere to hide.
She tried minimizing her time between floors, but encountering other Tributes was inevitable. |
