[Blaine felt like he was going crazy. He was packing up the supplies they had in a hurry as he waited for every canon blast. He should have explained better. He should have been very, very clear with Kurt.

You don't go to their parties. You don't attend feasts. You don't go to anything they want you too.

All he could think about was the videos he had seen of the ways that they would set up Tributes. They had even done it to Katniss and she had almost died because of it! Oh god, what if it was Kurt now on the floor with some crazy person above him with a knife?

Blaine felt his heart hammering in his chest as he barely kept a hold of the panic.

He'd be sure to explain it now, if Kurt came back.

Please, please, please be okay.


He was just crossing toward the walkway the lead to Fantasyland when he saw Kurt returning. His stomach twisted up with so much relief that he didn't care about attracting attention.]

You're okay! [He yelled as he ran to Kurt. He looked pretty banged up but he was standing and hand all of his limbs. Blaine felt tears of relief come to his eyes and blinked them away stubbornly. he would not lose it in front of the entire Capitol.]

Oh thank God, you're okay.

[Blaine was silent for a moment before he replied]

A woman broke my neck.

[showbizpanache]

[Kurt gasps and makes a motion as if he's about to reach out to touch Blaine's neck. He seems to think better of it, and instead lets his hand drop into his lap before looking down at it miserably.]

Before that some psychopath cut up my face. I was hurt, scared, hungry and freezing, Kurt. By the time Copycat got her hands on me... [He sighs a bit] At least what she did was quick and it didn't hurt very much at all.

[Kurt just looks horrified. His eyes fill up with tears. He may be angry with Blaine, but he can't imagine why anyone would ever want to hurt him. Blaine is just too good.]

It's still terrible.

It's how things work here, Kurt.

That's why I don't want to be separated.

Do you really think we can protect each other?

[Kurt just stares, his eyes glassy. Blaine seems so sure about this. There's a pause, then:]

I won't wander off again.

[mediumdrip]

[Blaine moves closer to Kurt. He wants to say something reassuring but he can't think of anything.

There's only one Victor, but Katniss and Peeta won together because of their love. Maybe they can do the same? If not... If not, then Blaine is playing to make sure that Kurt wins.]
