hasacondition: (there are a few things that anger me)
Bruce Banner ([personal profile] hasacondition) wrote in [community profile] thearena2013-01-22 07:58 am

it's poetry in motion tbh

Who| Bruce (or, later, the Hulk) and open!
What| Trying and ultimately failing to stay alive
Where| First around the surface, then later on in a crevasse!
When| All through the second week!
Warnings| Is the Hulk a warning? There might also be some thoughts on past suicide attempts.
Notes | Earlier in the week, he'll be Bruce; after slipping into a crevasse with De and co, he'll be the Hulk for the majority of the remaining time! Tell me which you'd like to see in your tag, or make it obvious by the setting (if you're in a crevasse, you almost definitely get the Hulk).

Those up on the surface will see a not particularly threatening sight; Dr. Bruce Banner, grabbing his coat closer to him and trying not to stumble around in the snow. He keeps moving only because being killed means putting on a show, so he'll only stumble around to an area where it looks like no one's around before sitting down to pile up some snow as a windbreak and try to figure out how to get out of this.

The one time he could really use the other guy, of course, is when he's already gone; maybe this time he'll actually die when he climbs up into the Arctic and throws himself into a miserable hole. At least it'd give him a sense of closure.

Those down in the crevasse, if they happen to be around at the right moment, will hear a heavy thud, and maybe feel the ground shake. From that point on, they might catch a glimpse of an enormous green monster shambling around in the small space; maybe he's trying to climb back up, or maybe he seems to be looking for something. Maybe he's got a little less self-control than all that, though-- maybe he's just smashing shit.

Uh crevasse lol~

She'd managed to fall into a crevasse, smacking her chin in the process. Just her luck. She was hungry and cold, and now bleeding. And, she had no way to get home, or defend herself...

She had just started feeling her eyes droop - it was so, so cold, even with the whispers in her ears and...who knew where those came from, maybe she was hallucinating - when suddenly, things began to shake. Violently. She let out a gasp as some icicles fell onto her, and then ones from further up crashed onto the floor around her.

Oh, this didn't sound good. Not at all.
polyturtle: (this final jeopardy is hard)

Crevasse, but not involved with it lol

Oh, Don felt that. It was far away, but even then, it practically rattled his shell with the vibrations. And it didn't give him a good feeling at all.

Quickly, he grasped his knife, and carefully positioned himself closer to Momoko. At least, if trouble was coming, they should be prepared to get out of there.

"Momoko..."

"Youma--?!"

Chibi-Usa let out a cry as she saw the creature closing in, smashing everything in its way. She found herself pressed again the wall of the crevasse, her heart pounding as the creature came ever closer, ever angrier.

Was this the end? Was she going to die right here?

Was she-

No. No. She wasn't going to die like a scared kid. She had to fight. She was a sailor soldier. Somehow, she had to fight and live. She had to be brave. She'd been at that point of fright once. It caused too much heartbreak.

Never again.

To make herself feel the way she was thinking, she thrust her hand up, knowing it wouldn't work, but hoping she could at least be a placebo. Perhaps enough to help her climb out of this place.

"Pink Moon Crystal Power...Make-Up!"

She wasn't expecting to actually transform.

Which was why the bright pink light which suddenly burst from her body was such a shock.

And then, the bright light was gone. And standing there when the icy dust cleared was the girl, but dressed entirely differently. At least, the Hulk could be sure of it.

She didn't feel the cold as harshly, like this. The familiar, warm power was building within her, like a stellar furnace. Just like it was supposed to be.

The power wasn't entirely there, she realized. But it was enough.

It had to be.

"For love and justice, Sailor Chibi-Moon!" She pointed at the green creature. "I won't let you hurt people senselessly like this! In the name of the moon...you're punished!"

Hopefully, now that she had the being's full and undivided attention. Otherwise, she was most certainly dead.

Oh, this wasn't good. If he kept doing what he was doing, the entire structure could collapse. She had to act, and quickly. Or at least try.

"Starlight Honeymoon..." The Eternal Tiare formed in her hands as she pointed at the Hulk. "Therapy Kiss!!"

She'd never done the attack she was doing before on her own. It was generally in tandem with Usagi. But, as the bright burst of energy left her rod, Chibi-Moon could only hope she'd only need the one shot to finish this monster off. The longer it lived, the more damage it would inevitably do. Especially after pissing it off with her attack.

De has seen her fare share of 'people who should be in fucked up situations' and sh's gotten pretty good at feeling out who is who on the shell shocked scale.

And this guy? He looks like he's seen some rough days. But also like he is not entirely prepped to shank someone for a cup of coffee.

So, on the scale of 'Safe' to 'Dead' he ranks pretty close to safe, and, as such, approachable.

"Hey, sailor." She called, approaching cautiously, still. She wasn't planning to let her guard down entirely.

Momoko had been dozing, almost, when the ground shakes. Enough to startle her into awareness and spark a whole slew of lovely memories concerning tremors. She squeaks and presses herself against the icy wall. "Earthquake," she blurts.

Oh, damn. She was afraid of that. She wasn't as strong as Sailor Moon, a--

No. She would not think like that. She had no time.

"Pink Lady..." She brought her hands up quickly. "Freezing Kiss!"

Frozen in pink ice, no less. Pink ice that was trying to destroy him. Chibi-Moon knew she had to work fast, before the monster got angry enough to smash through her attack. But now, at least, her target was standing still. And this time, she would aim her attack true.

"Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss!!"

Right at its head.

crevasse

[personal profile] pursuitofcappiness 2013-01-22 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Steve has been suffering from frostbite, and fell into a crevasse and expected to die. So, when he woke up from a little nap feeling better than he had before and with regained feeling in his fingers, he thought it nothing short of a miracle.

Then he remembered that he needed to go back out there, and he's been trying to climb up the side to no avail. When he sees someone falling in, his first instinct is to go break their fall, since he can do that now at little cost to himself. He doesn't get there in time and keeps running to see if he can save whoever it is and then realizes it's Dr. Banner. Shit.

Wait. Even more shit. EVEN MORE SHIT.

Okay, okay, he knows he knows the Hulk and he kinda likes the Hulk and everything but. Hulk's probably very indiscriminately angry and Steve needs to get the hell out of dodge.

This is bad, this is very bad, this is like fifteen balls kind of bad and as Steve runs, he realizes there's no way he's going to be able to outrun The Hulk, so he slows down to a halt, damn the ice, slips onto his ass, and then stands up.

In one last-ditch effort, he hopes that the Hulk will recognize his face, or recognize his voice.

"HULK!" he yells, still far enough away. "Hulk, stop!"
pursuitofcappiness: (wooo tech stuff)

[personal profile] pursuitofcappiness 2013-01-23 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
"Hulk," he repeats, and slowly approaches him, hoping that he realizes Steve intends him no harm. "It's me. It's Steve." He holds out his arm and draws a circle with the other, to symbolize the shield.

"You fell from up there." He points towards the top of the crevasse. "Or, uh... Dr. Banner did."

He looks apologetic. "We're in kind of a mess, Hulk, but we're gonna find a way out of it, alright?"

"Its ok." While Don didn't have much experience with earthquakes - New York not having too many of them - nods in reassurance. "It'll pass."
pursuitofcappiness: (attention)

[personal profile] pursuitofcappiness 2013-01-23 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Hulk being unable to get what he wants is a bad place, but Steve tries to get his attention by gently laying a hand on his arm, hoping that he uh, doesn't try to swat Steve away.

"Hey, sit down, I'll figure out a way to get us up, alright?"

If Hulk digs enough, they could possibly build a mountain of ice to climb on. Not that Steve likes that idea, since he's not a big fan of ice, but it's not like there's a particularly good better option.

He takes one of the pieces of ice and throws it against the top, just to see if there's some sort of trouble with the ice wall up there. It... seems normal.

There crevices are, Riddick thinks, both potentially interesting and potentially dangerous. He's seen Draco down one, but considering the slickness and coldness of the sides, he's not planning on joining the kid. But he does kind of wander around keeping an eye on them, or for them, during dawn and dusk when it isn't too bright but isn't too cold.

Spotting a giant green person down there, though, is not what he'd expected. He hunkers down at the edge to stare down, from behind his dark goggles, brow furrowed and trying to figure out just who that guy might be. Not anyone announced... or anyone he saw in the Cornucopia... it doesn't help that Hulk isn't exactly standing still.
