Dude, we're getting the band back together!

But Mindy had made sure to stockpile BEFORE she smuggled the younger girl up here. They hit the Sports Authority first, where Mindy had grabbed the water bottles and a few choice knives, not to mention a new change of clothes. Now in a tank top, cammo pants and boots, Mindy stored what items were needed in her locker and then the two went searching. Mindy was all ready to set up shop in the theater when LO ANS BEHOLD there was a comic shop! Mindy dragged Chibi Usa here, barricading the door but leaving just enough room for someone smaller to squeeze right through.

"Here," she said, giving Usagi some of the spoils from the food court, "I got this so far. Eat only a little, though I think you'll be getting some food from sponsors pretty soon."

Mindy leaned against the door, panting. The work of moving around and rustling up supplies had been draining, and she was still feeling the pain of the brand, not to mention her bones.

"You nab anything, Usagi?"

She nods with a small but serious face.

"I'll be careful. And I'll always keep the bat with me too, just to make sure."

After all, at least in the capitol she was told that no harm was allowed to come to tributes from other tributes outside the arena, and she really didn't want to die in the arena.

"I'd feel better if it was a knife," Mindy muttered. No, the idea of Chibi Usa stabbing a bitch was bothersome, but the idea of her impaled on something or crushed was even worse. If she could just survive this damn thing, she wouldn't have to be fussed over in the first place.

"Can't be helped though. EVERYBODY'S got to deal with the Arena, even me. It really just comes down to how bad you want to get out, and how many people you have to survive for that to happen."

Without planning too, Chibi-Usa pulls a face at the idea of having a knife. If she had to have a strategy it was going to be snatch and run. She doubts it would get her far, but it might get her to last long enough if she ever gets separated from Mindy.

"Dying sounds awful. So... I want to stay alive as long as possible." She gives a nod with her face going back to the serious look from before.

"You might be better with explosives," Mindy noted, looking at the girl's reaction to the mention of knives. "You'll probably need to look up what chemicals work best, but you could do it."

She snickered. "It's sucks. Mine was a bear trap and losing me leg. I was dying of bloodloss. Someone was just kind enough to slit my throat so the pain didn't continue."

She didn't say that with sarcasm either. "The second arena I won, but MAN, I felt close enough to dying."

"Explosives? I can't make..."

She starts, she's used something like a stun grenade before, but that was actually her transforming Luna P into one to use. All she did was bounce a ball that looked like a cat, there wasn't actually any real creation involved.

"I wouldn't know what I was doing."

When Mindy tells her how she had died in her first arena, Chibi-Usa pales. The whole mental image is so unfavourable she just shakes her head to force herself not to imagine it.

"That's really awful." she says quietly.

"Guess I'll have to teach you then," Mindy said. "It might happen that I get killed, and that'll leave you by yourself. I'd rather you have a way that you can defend yourself. Shanking a bitch can only take you so far, you know."

She makes a face. "It didn't feel great, that was for sure. I mean, dying slowly was pretty damn awful. The guy that slit my throat did it so I wouldn't have to suffer bleeding out: that way gets really painful. Being tortured probably tops it though."

Granted, the worse thing ever was Guy coming back from Penny's torture, something she hoped Chibi Usa would never have to find out about.

She just goes quiet. At a loss at the thought of Mindy not just being tortured, but that she had been killed so gruesomely, and that there was the possibility that it was going to happen again.

Chibi-Usa bites her lip she doesn't want Mindy to die, or to leave her really. While she's not exactly the same as Usagi, it's still really comforting for her to know that there is someone with her that will look out for her and trusts her to be where she is needed to be.

She notices the anxious look on the girl's face and smiles, taking her hand.

"I'm strong, Usagi. I've been strong even before I was brought here, and they could try, but I take a long, long time to be broken. They don't want that from me, they want me fighting like everyone else in this place. So long as you need my help, I'll keep fighting."

That was a promise...and, of course, carried its own weight with it.
