Mini Arena 2
Tributes are woken early, and the hovercraft ride is a long one. Not the longest some have experienced, but they are clearly going far.
25 - 24 - 23
They land on the deck of the boat, and are ushered underneath, to the lower levels, quickly. Their stylists go from cabin to cabin, decking them out in over the top finery, before loading them into the pods installed into the corners of the rooms.
20 - 19 - 18 - 17 - 16
The platforms lift them up, and they are all ringed around a grand buffet table, loaded with a grand feast looking ready to sag down from the weight. Among the food are supplies, plenty of them, all for the taking.
11- 10 - 9 - 8
They've all been warned, don't step off your pedestal early. They have also been warned to put on a good show. That's all this is about, a good show. None of them have been told that there can be multiple winners this time around.

Rosalind stared down the stranger, weapon in hand, icy eyes locked on her potential opponent in rapt attention. Briefly, she eyed the bag - weird, but she had seen stranger in her time - before finally electing to speak.
"...If you attack me, I will respond in kind." Less a threat, more a warning statement - but her hand didn't shake around the candlestick, either. "If you do not attack me, however, I will not fight with you."

Finally she hooked the bag back onto her belt and relaxed her shoulders.
"Yeah alright. I've only got the one rat anyway. I probably shouldn't waste it on you."
Rosalind didn't look nearly as threatening some of the other tributes who might need an angry rat in the face.

Rosalind wasn't sure whether she would have gotten taken down by this girl in a fight, or if applying any wits at all would have bested her. For now, she lowered her weapon, raising an eyebrow instead.
"Well, that's big of you. Is a rat the...only weapon you have on you at the moment?"

"I almost got a knife but this girl started throwing food at me...after I threw food at her. Basically we threw food till the knife went missing."

"...Well it's a good thing that you did. That food could have killed you."
Flatly spoken - it wasn't clear just how sarcastic she was being from her expression and voice alone, but the audience at home was probably giggling at her sass right about now.

"You know I've got an uncle, Gordic the greasy? They say his cooking was deadly. My dad told me he once charged into battle and beat a dragon senseless with another dragon's overcooked leg."

There was a moment of silence as Rosalind was rendered speechless by just how little Ruffnut had comprehended her sarcasm...and then she shook herself, tilting her head a little to one side.
"Is that so? Well, then, good on you for erring on the side of caution."
This was less sarcastically spoken. Being sarcastic almost felt like picking on this girl for being simple, and Rosalind wasn't really interested in doing that.

"Caution isn't that much fun though." she added "I mean, it's not gonna help anyone win these games right? Being careful? You gotta take risks!"

"Not being quite careful enough can also get you murdered."

"From the looks of things around here anything can get you murdered. So you might as well have fun till it happens."
This is the sort of logic that she runs her life on.

She was not even going to try to argue. She could see it wasn't going to go anywhere. This girl appeared to be more than a bit simpleminded.
"What is your name?"

Simpleminded was being generous in this case.
"Ruffnut." She answered plainly, clearly glad to have a question she could answer. "What about you?"

"My name is Rosalind."

"Cool name." she added though it sounded strange to her. "Probably won't scare off any trolls, but you're an adult so maybe they don't want to eat you anymore."

"...Trolls?"

"Except the trolls around here. They don't seem to care."
