Week 1 [OPEN]
Who| Gabriel & You
What| Walking around, trying to survive, you know the story
Where| Near the orchards, towards the West
When| Week 1
Warnings/Notes| If I'm too slow, bug me to high hell to tag you. Gabe hasn't been too social the last couple of months, so use that ICly if you'd like.
It wasn't that he was scared of the Cornucopia. He just didn't manage to get all that close this time to snag something. Yes, he was quick and knew how to zip around people fighting for their lives, but perhaps it was something that was here throwing him off. This arena left a very bad vibe with him.
Then again, it's only his second one. He had to keep reminding himself that this was new to him and new was not a good thing anymore.
He decided against trying to find shelter in town. The original inhabitants left it for a reason, after all. The amusement park to the east looked like a load of fun, but also a horror movie with this fog. He noted for later that he could use that to his advantage. He wasn't scared of the boogeyman. Though, he did catch sight of something that morning that gave him shivers, but chose to believe it was only his eyes playing tricks since it was gone when he looked back.
For now, Gabriel walked along with his jacket in one arm. It was damn hot and, no, he wasn't going to be sneaky. It was the first week and he couldn't hide if he wanted to. Let them come out and try him. He still knew hand to hand combat. He was human, not weak and stupid. His current mission was food and supplies in any way he could get it. Maybe even stripping a house or car or something. Then... maybe the park.

Then she moved away from the town and towards the more suburban areas. Once there she spotted something moving through the mists. She stilled, crouched low to make herself less noticeable and began to watch whoever it was.
no subject
Should he announce he was unarmed? If it were a decent person, they'd leave him be. If they weren't, he had some chance of besting them in a fight. Slowly, he began to back up, watching the mist around him closely.
no subject
Either way she made a few steps to her left, depending on his level of hearing, it should be enough to at least let him know that she was in the area.

When he was cast unto this place, his senses seemed completely worthless to him, no matter how much he tried to reign them in a bit better. He felt deaf, blind, dumb- as such, he couldn't tell where the steps were moving anymore like he could back in the day.
But he did stop moving completely. If this person thought he was scared and helpless, maybe he could get the jump on them if they decided to attack.
no subject
Thus far there has been no such place.
Still it appeared as though he stopped moving, and so she did the same.

He oh so very much wanted to speak up, but that included the possibility of someone else hearing him that didn't know he was there in the first place. Then where would the point of this fog be?
With an annoyed frown, Gabriel glanced around again until he was somewhat sure of where he heard the footsteps come from a moment before and started walking over quickly and loudly. He liked games as much as the next eight year old, but not while he was nearly starving.

But on a more serious not, Sonja considered backing away at first. She had no idea who this person was, what he was carrying, if anything. Plus hungry people equaled desperate people. Granted that she has also not seen another person for a little while now -mainly due in part to the fog. So it would prove to be kind of beneficial towards her.
At the very least she may learn something here. Or just have found someone to kill before moving on. So Sonja decided to stay still, waiting for the person to approach.

He furrowed his brow and looked her up and down before speaking low enough so that only they could hear. "If you wanted to flirt, lady, all you had to do was ask."
no subject
"I do not flirt, man." She returned in her own whisper.

But Gabriel was always one quarter Messenger of God and three quarters Loud Mouth. Maybe that's why he got the job. "You must be a thrill at parties, then," he said, straightening his back a little and putting his hands on his hips. Made him look like his guard was down, but appearances were deceiving. "Well, if that wasn't a mating dance, then why were you sneaking around like that? It's okay. I know I'm cute. You can admit it. I won't tell anyone."
no subject
That being said, she has no idea who this is.
"Perhaps I was merely assessing the threat, like you."
no subject
Gabriel gives the best grin he can. He's always one for accurate first impressions.
no subject
She is not exactly taken in by the joking.
no subject
Her grip tightened on it when she saw the figure in the fog. A Tribute, obviously not trying to hide. She debated with herself, whether to hide again or to try to make contact. She decided approach, but slowly, checking them out first, hopefully before he's aware of her presence.
no subject
But there was always a part of him that would never be human. It sensed someone nearing him before his ears could hear the low footfalls. If they wanted to get around him, it would be easy in this arena, but this one was approaching. He doubted they would leave him be once they realized he had no food and weapons.
Gabriel quieted his footsteps more to hear his little stalker better, but didn't slow in pace. Perhaps if he was attacked, they wouldn't expect a sudden retaliation. He was unarmed and weaker now but not easy.
no subject
"Gabriel?" she said, her voice hesitant, her hand tightening further on her improvised weapon. Maybe it wasn't him. Maybe there were shape changers here or something. Or he was a mirage.
Or he would attack her. Their first encounter had not exactly been friendly.
no subject
She also hadn't put her guard down. Not that he could blame her. The last arena was kinda fun. "Planning on whacking me over the head and taking me back to your cave?"
no subject
It was said lightly, though. She believed that odds were he wouldn't hurt her. It wasn't impossible, but there were only a few people she'd put in the absolutely safe category.
Her grip relaxed a little as she came closer.
"Are you all right?"
no subject
He looked over, though. Other than his same problems, she looked more or less fine. No obvious injuries, at least.
no subject
He looked well though, which was a relief. How they met aside, she had started thinking of the man (angel, whatever) as a friend.
She looked around, peering into the fog. "I'm not sure we should be just standing out here."
no subject
The same thought had come to him when he first laid eyes on her. Yeah, he was walking around out in the open, but he didn't mean to bump into someone and have a chat out there either. "We shouldn't be here at all," he grumbled, referring to the Capitol at large, but- He began to walk again. "Let's find somewhere else to park it. Maybe by a beach. Preferably with free Piña Coladas. Maybe they'll even have those little umbrella things."
Or shelter. He'd settle for shelter.
no subject
"Little umbrellas, a slice of pineapple on the rim...I'd settle for a pool, though."
no subject
"You all right? I ran like a bat out of Hell from the Cornucopia. Didn't really see anyone."
no subject
She was silent for a long moment, wondering how much she could, or should, tell him. She was not all right. She was so far from all right.
"I'm tired," she admitted finally. "It's just getting worse. Which, you know, it's not like I've been sleeping."
