It wasn't that he was scared of the Cornucopia. He just didn't manage to get all that close this time to snag something. Yes, he was quick and knew how to zip around people fighting for their lives, but perhaps it was something that was here throwing him off. This arena left a very bad vibe with him.

Then again, it's only his second one. He had to keep reminding himself that this was new to him and new was not a good thing anymore.

He decided against trying to find shelter in town. The original inhabitants left it for a reason, after all. The amusement park to the east looked like a load of fun, but also a horror movie with this fog. He noted for later that he could use that to his advantage. He wasn't scared of the boogeyman. Though, he did catch sight of something that morning that gave him shivers, but chose to believe it was only his eyes playing tricks since it was gone when he looked back.

For now, Gabriel walked along with his jacket in one arm. It was damn hot and, no, he wasn't going to be sneaky. It was the first week and he couldn't hide if he wanted to. Let them come out and try him. He still knew hand to hand combat. He was human, not weak and stupid. His current mission was food and supplies in any way he could get it. Maybe even stripping a house or car or something. Then... maybe the park.

Sonja, with a small supply of food and water, as well as sword, was finding herself doing fairly well this far. She had only ran into one person during the beginning, but had this avoided most in favor of both exploring and defense. As far as she was concerned, stealth was a key right now. With the amount of closed spaces and the lack of visibility, made it rather easy for one to either turn to hunter or trapper.

Then she moved away from the town and towards the more suburban areas. Once there she spotted something moving through the mists. She stilled, crouched low to make herself less noticeable and began to watch whoever it was.

Her target disappeared into the mists it seems, forcing her to rely solely on her hearing. She would not call out, would not make a move to verbally contact him. Instead she closed her eyes, tracking him with the sounds of his footfalls. He was moving away from her it seemed. Perhaps he had been avoiding others as well?

Either way she made a few steps to her left, depending on his level of hearing, it should be enough to at least let him know that she was in the area.

To be able to fight without the use of one's eyes takes time, patience and just a little bit, read a whole lot, of luck. However to jump to the conclusion that she was really looking for a fight in these conditions was just silly if she wished for a fight then Sonja would just pick one out of the fog, such as inside of a building. Or perhaps else where if there is a place devoid of the mist.

Thus far there has been no such place.

Still it appeared as though he stopped moving, and so she did the same.

Joan had been keeping to herself, keeping in the shadows, never staying in one place too long, hiding when figures loomed in the fog, whether Tribute or...something else. She couldn't tell if the humanoid figures were other Tributes...she had met men of rock and giant turtles, after all. But the freakish dog things were certainly not. At the next house she went to for food and shelter, she found a dining room chair and smashed it, keeping one leg as a weapon.

Her grip tightened on it when she saw the figure in the fog. A Tribute, obviously not trying to hide. She debated with herself, whether to hide again or to try to make contact. She decided approach, but slowly, checking them out first, hopefully before he's aware of her presence.

...Yes, yes exactly like a waltz. You have just officially ruined the dance, sir. We all hope that you are proud of yourself now.

But on a more serious not, Sonja considered backing away at first. She had no idea who this person was, what he was carrying, if anything. Plus hungry people equaled desperate people. Granted that she has also not seen another person for a little while now -mainly due in part to the fog. So it would prove to be kind of beneficial towards her.

At the very least she may learn something here. Or just have found someone to kill before moving on. So Sonja decided to stay still, waiting for the person to approach.

As she drew closer (still thinking he was unaware), she could see him more clearly, and her first tentative recognition was soon strengthened.

"Gabriel?" she said, her voice hesitant, her hand tightening further on her improvised weapon. Maybe it wasn't him. Maybe there were shape changers here or something. Or he was a mirage.

Or he would attack her. Their first encounter had not exactly been friendly.

"Depends on whether you're planning on animating the trees to tear me apart."

It was said lightly, though. She believed that odds were he wouldn't hurt her. It wasn't impossible, but there were only a few people she'd put in the absolutely safe category.

Her grip relaxed a little as she came closer.

"Are you all right?"

"There are people out to kill us. Especially the gamemakers, apparently. I worry about everyone."

He looked well though, which was a relief. How they met aside, she had started thinking of the man (angel, whatever) as a friend.

She looked around, peering into the fog. "I'm not sure we should be just standing out here."

The red head sized him up for a moment. Looking for any signs of him posing a threat. So far she sees none. But such things could always change at a moment's notice.

"I do not flirt, man." She returned in her own whisper.

Appearances are most certainly deceiving indeed. Just because he looked at ease did not mean that she does. If anything she was far more on edge now than ever. The most relaxed ones were always those who were to confident in their own abilities. Sometimes with good reason, others times, not so much.

That being said, she has no idea who this is.

"Perhaps I was merely assessing the threat, like you."

She gave him a faint half-smile and fell into step beside him. The ache in her body was evident in how she moved, how she held herself, and the way she looked down and away might have hinted at a deeper pain.

"Little umbrellas, a slice of pineapple on the rim...I'd settle for a pool, though."

"I did, too. Didn't want a repeat performance of what happened last time. I'd like to be able to actually use my leg."

She was silent for a long moment, wondering how much she could, or should, tell him. She was not all right. She was so far from all right.

"I'm tired," she admitted finally. "It's just getting worse. Which, you know, it's not like I've been sleeping."

"If that was your idea of flirting, then I would very much dislike to see how you perform in bed or battle."

She is not exactly taken in by the joking.
