WEAPONS ROLL RUN

"The museum will be closing in half an hour. At that time, something very special will be distributed to the Tributes brave enough to risk their peers at the first floor elevators."

The storm is still raging outside, casting everything on the first floor in a dim light occasionally shattered by flashes of lightning. The thunder rolling in the background seems to set the tone, although some may find it a welcome distraction from silence.

Half an hour passes. Five minutes before it's done, the elevators cease functioning, leaving Tributes to use the stairwells.

Each elevator door opens to reveal a handful of weapons: firecrackers, revolvers, grenades. There are no threats to the Tributes who try to retrieve them - none but their fellow competitors.

[OOC note: party-style post. Everyone tag away.]

He had no idea why he'd even tried. He was in the right place at the right time, and he made a run for it. Even he could make a decent enough showing with a rifle or a pistol. They didn't require any strength to handle, usually.

But the others were faster. And bedlam had broken out. He was so busy watching behind him that he didn't see what was in front of him as he scrambled away from the slaughterhouse conditions.

So that crash into the girls was an entirely genuine mistake, and was in no way an attempt to catch Pruna at a vulnerable moment and take her weapon. But there was no way for her to know the difference.

Pruna just gritted her teeth and nodded at Sandy's words, they didn't have time at all and they had to get out of here.

A moment later they were crashed into and Pruna didn't hesitate as she brought the gun around like it was a club and aimed it for whoever had hit them. It wasn't the hardest hit, she wasn't that big after all, but hopefully it would be enough to get them off Sandy.

Sandy unfortunately was both heavy and not on her most stable footing. So when she was knocked into it would feel like he just body checked a statue. In turn she fell to the ground and twisted to land on her side. Cracks and chips spread along her stone clothes and she let out another yelp like she'd been kicked.

He hit the ground too, but started to get up almost immediately. He put a hand on Sandy to pull himself up, not quite parsing yet that she'd turned to stone, and wasn't merely some bit of statue that had been pushed off its base. He'd only gotten to his knees when Pruna's shotgun came down. She got him in the side of the head, and he saw stars for a moment. The room swam, and his hands were still on Sandy as he needed a second to recollect himself from that.

"Be getting off her." Pruna knew nothing of his mistaking Sandy for a statue, all she knew was that he had grabbed her and probably meant her harm. She jumped at him again, this time bringing the knife towards his shoulder.

Short tag but...well what else she got going on?

Sandy on the other hand realized what was happening and responded with a panicked noise of "BWAH!" And rolling hard to get away. She felt the dull grind of things under her and as she looked back she realized some pieces of her had broken off in the process. More chips reduced to pebbles. That would likely hurt later.

Try as he might, anything was hard to focus on at that moment. He couldn't even make out her voice over the ringing in his ears. So he didn't move right away. Instead he kind of wavered on the spot, and shook his head. No, he had to keep moving. He had to get up. But when Sandy moved, he lost his support. Did that statue just move? He tried to get his feet back under him, but he was still too off-balance.
knifewithnoname: (you're joking)

Pruna was on him in moments, driving a knee into his gut. "I did be saying be getting off her." She snarled, waving for Sandy to get away, they had to get out of this place, once she got rid of this threat.

Sandy didn't need telling twice. Stone fingers gripped the ground and helped her scramble clear. She could feel her heart hammering away. Was her heart a stone too? She'd never had to wonder before now.
