Who| Homura and Diana
What| Its time for these two girls to bow out.
Where| Northern part of the island
When| Mid-Week 6
Warnings/Notes| Death and violence.
For not being able to access her powers, Homura felt she was doing a decent job.
Decent, yes. But, thankfully, not too good. Being too good would be a disadvantage. A strange thing to think, no doubt. Quite a few people would no doubt believe winning was more preferable to dying. That living the good life in the Capitol, to bask in one's glory as a Victor, would be more preferable, even if it was the easy way, to dying in increasingly terrible ways.
Homura would disagree with them. Victory here would be most problematic. In truth, the girl wondered if the Capitol truly understood what allowed to exist in their world, when they selected her for this dubious honor. Perhaps they didn't. The aliens managed to break through into this world. They were so ignorant of the consequences of their actions.
But they were lucky, that Homura, clone or not, had a sense of self-preservation. And in this case, the only way to preserve herself was to die.
She still had some time, but she knew there were several others who had reason to come after her. Those whose friends and allies she'd killed in the Arena. Perhaps they would oblige her for vengeance.
And so Homura kept going.
And waited for her last opponent.

"Just think about it for a moment. Is it really? I mean, I'm pretty sure offing yourself mid-arena isn't popular with the people who run things."

Given how she was about to press that button?
Diana had better start running.

There was no reasoning, that was clear.
But it was also clear as Diana's feet pounded against the ground that there was also not going to be any hope of her outrunning a bomb.
No luck. No hope. No chance.

As for Homura herself, she simply closed her eyes. There wasn't long to wait, but for her, who knew a world where time was stopped, it felt like an eternity. Her thoughts swirled around her, as she thought of what would be next. The Capitol, likely.
Hell would have been preferable. But for now, she knew it would have to do.
...Reset.
And then, the bombs went off. In Homura's hand, and then on Homura's body. She didn't even feel it, so powerful was the blast at the epicenter.
Which meant Diana had very little time left.
Could she make a moment last forever?
thankyou for being so patient with me ^^;;
There's heat and pain. That's all that registers. All she feels for that briefest moment.
Before the flames engulf everything that was ever once Diana.
