For the Night is Dark
Who| Nepeta, Signless, Redglare and whoever might be with Redglare
What| Unexpected meetings
Where| Arena 2
When| During the night
Warnings/Notes| None yet
All things considered, Nepeta was starting to have second thought about the fighting to the death thing. Or at the very least, this particular arena set up. She had no problem with fighting, and little problem with joining forces with the Signless - he'd been more than helpful in dealing with the part where they were in a desert - but the sudden appearance of the screens had been less than helpful. Less so, when it had shown them Karkat's eye getting mangled, something that neither she nor her companion had taken terribly well.
Either way, staying there wasn't going to be any option. With the silence of the arena, the sound of the screen surely would have announced their presence to any of the other people in the area, to say nothing of any animals that might have been in the area (which might or might not have been drawn to the sound, but she didn't really want risk it, under the circumstances).
So it was that they picked a direction, more or less at random, and headed off into the night. Anything was bound to be better than remaining sitting quackbeasts.

He was quiet as he walked with Nepeta, though. Seeing Karkat hurt like that had shaken him badly, and the noises of the desert were just unfamiliar enough to make him feel jittery and on-edge.
"I'm sorry that you had to see that."

The sounds of the desert weren't terribly comforting to her either. She knew the Alternian wildlife just fine, but this wasn't Alternia. Almost anything could live here and they wouldn't have any idea of what until they were actually attacked.
Needless to say, as unlovely as it might have been, what they'd recently seen was very slightly preferable to focus on.
