Don't come closer (Group 2)
Who| Pepper, Danny and open
What| Her wondering around the arena for the most part
Where| various placed
When| Day two and on of the arena
Warnings| violence, screaming like a girl (Catch all for interactions)
Pepper had been amazed to receive the parachute actually, though she was grateful for the water that had been sent. One bottle she hadn't even cracked open, the other she was trying to make last as long as possible if only because she had a feeling going for the water they provided would probably be a death trap, and the memory of what happened the day before was still too fresh in her head.
The rest of the gear in the parcel had been some extra food, three tins worth, but she was too hot to even think about eating, two knives, one of which was tucked into the waist band of her leggings, the outer shell of the costume had been removed, the bodysuit under it was black, but didn't weigh as much at least. she was now sitting on the shell coil of rope in front of her, she nodded to herself, wouldn't be that bad to carry everything rolled up in the bulk of the costume.
"Danny, here." She pulled out one water and one food tin, she'd keep the rest of it together for now, setting both in the sand she made a roll with the costume, tying it with the rope, slinging it over her shoulder before picking up the tin and bottle to hand to him. "Figure since you're helping me for now, may as well share." Both items were held out for him to take.

He took the tin and the water with a nod. "Thanks, and ration whatever water you have, seriously. Dehydration is really not fun." He glanced up at the sun, "We really need to find a place to hide out 'till the sun goes down. Being out in this heat strikes me as fairly idiotic."

"Don't worry I was planning on it. Only shade I've seen around so far, well there was cactus the way I came from yesterday, and a rock ledge, probably not that much shade, but beats what we have now." She hooked the water bottle to the bundle on her shoulder.

Danny just grunted and made an 'after you' gesture. "Lead me to this rock ledge. Then we can try and find another source for water." He glanced at the water bottle, "that's not going to last for very long. Just enough to keep your mouth wet."
Yes, he'd done his studying. This wasn't his first arena after all. As a cop, you get pretty familiar with the basics of survival. "You can go weeks without food, but only a day or so without water. So that's our first priority."
no subject
"I've only taken two small sips, but you're right, we'll have to find water soon." She knew from hot summers in New York that the news kept telling you to drink lots of water, and try to stay in AC... Well AC wasn't going to work out here. "So," She slowed her pace so he could catch up. "What did you do before this? I remember you asking about my hobbies."

On his belt he had a bottle of water and a small knife, both hidden under the flowing shape of his cape.
And he followed a third parachute, this one not his, to a pair in the distance. That was when he put his cowl back on and followed, trying to stay to dune shadows or anything to hide in, waiting for a chance to catch the tinier looking one alone. The Dark Knight hunts kids, ironic.

If not, well she'd look like a fool, wouldn't be the first time since she was brought to Panem. Her back's to Lindsey, still not thinking there's a threat, after all they hadn't heard anyone else yet.
no subject
A parachute came this way, meaning at the very least, she would have some sort of supplies.
"Hey," he called out when he got closer and Danny was out of earshot.
no subject
She stopped walking so he could catch up.
no subject
He looked off into the distance to where the other shadow went. "Who do you have with you?"
no subject
"Danny, why?" Hey Eliot had been nice to her why hide things?
no subject
Was that? FUCK.
He turned back around and ran to Pepper thrusting his body inbetween them.
"Lindsay, how you doing? Fuck off and die."
no subject
"Playing the guardian again?" He stored the blade behind his belt then lifted both hands in a harmless gesture. "No harm in getting acquainted."
no subject
Pepper doesn't even realize the knife she had slipped into the waistband of her leggings is gone either. Sensing the tension, thick enough to cut with the missing knife, she steps back from both of them. "So what if he is? At least he wasn't letting me think you were someone else."
no subject
"Twins. Haven't really met Eliot, but Lindsey... Lindsey and I have a history don't we?" He tracked every single movement Lindsey made. Some part of Danny recognized that they may have just been stolen from. But he found it hard to care when a dangerous asshole like Lindsey was only feet from someone like Pepper.
no subject
He turned to give Pepper a softer smile, something with less edge and maybe just a tad more sincerity. "Lindsey McDonald. I forget to mention my brother sometimes."
no subject
"Seems Eliot forgot to mention you as well." She would have to ask Eliot when she saw him later, maybe with Clint and Tony nearby?
no subject
He chanced a glance behind him, "You ok Pep?"
no subject
Lindsey's grin was every bit like the rattlesnakes that seemed to be littering this arena along with the scorpions. Predators.

All this went though his mind in a second, while he kept his eyes glued to Lindsey.
"Oh, I somehow doubt Sherlock would like being called a Twinkie. And don't think that I forgot that you killed me too. Not forgiving that anytime soon."
Still glaring he was now at his full 5'5 fluffed up swaggering glory. He used every trick in the book to be intimidating despite his short stature. "Now, do you have some business with us or should we just continue on our way?"
no subject
"Nope, was just dropping by to say hi. I can tell when I'm not welcomed." Lindsey's smirk ended up looking all the more sinister in his Batman outfit. He wasn't at all impressed by the shorter guy's swagger though.
His smirk expanded into a full blown, insincere grin. "Maybe next time. Maybe when you don't look so much like a puffer fish."
no subject
"Not that glad to meet you." Pepper muttered under her breathe at Lindsey, actually hoping it wouldn't be heard by him.
"Maybe back in the city with a few hundred people around?" That would be safe right? Only time she had the bad guys chase her back home had been when she had been alone.
