Who| Kurt Hummel and YOU.
What| Blaine ran off to find Diana and Kurt woke up alone.
Where| the outskirts of Adventureland
When| TODAY.
Warnings/Notes| I'll add any if they pop up.
[Waking up is as frightening an experience as it had been finding himself in Panem in the first place. The crushing disappointment upon waking and realizing that, indeed, this isn't a nightmare is palpable--and so too is the sudden realization that Blaine is nowhere to be found.
It's late in the evening, and Kurt is alone and terrified. He considers hiding and waiting for Blaine to appear again, but that feels too much like waiting to die. So he gets up and stretches his legs a little, moving around while still staying close to the spot where he'd fallen asleep.
He's hyper-aware of every sound and movement around him, so a sudden nearby beeping has him jumping out of his skin. What looks like a small parachute is descending a few yards away, and he remembers what he was told about supplies-- Quickly he runs out to retrieve it, and is surprised to see his name on.
Inside is some food, and he realizes quite suddenly just how hungry he is. It takes a lot of willpower not to scarf it all down at once, and he sits as far away from the marsh as he can (it smells horrible) to eat some of it.
He's alone, scared and completely unarmed.]

[He looks over Daniel, and doesn't see any weapons. He's still wary, but doesn't look quite as much like a skittish bunny rabbit anymore. It suddenly occurred to him that this guy's stomach had been growling.]
You're...hungry?
no subject
[there's another growl. Daniel smiles, sheepishly]
Yeah, very. But if that's all the food you guys have, I don't want to take it then. I'm sure I could find something.

You can have some. Here.
[He steps forward and holds it out.] This situation is frankly barbaric, and I don't think anyone should be forced to go hungry. Or kill one another, for that matter, but that's another rant altogether.
Here.

His stomach growls. Daniel looks sheepish. he's starved, but he can't deprive the Tribute and this Blaine of an entire can. Daniel pops the top, but only takes a small portion; whatever can fit on two fingers. He pops it into his mouth - it's not nearly enough to last the day, but it's better than nothing, and he hands the nearly fully can back to Kurt]
Thanks.
To us, yes, and a waste of life and potential, but there;s plenty of precedence for gladiatorial games or games involving death in human history. The Capitol's done it so much and for so long that they practically have it down to a science.

[He offers a bit more, then gestures for Daniel to sit down.] Do you, um--want to sit? My friend should be returning any minute now, but he's a bit late.
I'm getting kind of scared, to be honest. More than I already am, I mean.
no subject
Thank you, but I've already taken more than I should. You're very generous.
[Daniel glances around behind him, just to be sure, then sits down.]
We all are. Stick with your friend, it's safer in numbers. Actually...I was hoping to get a chance to speak with any Tribute I come across, if you'll hear me out. [he looks away for a moment; for some Tributes, it's already too late] Any surviving ones at least.
no subject
Sure. I'll listen.

You're familiar with Gandhi, right? The concept behind freedom rides or sit-ins? 1968 protests?

I don't think it'll be quite so simple, or maybe even do-able in its original form... but the general idea is worth a shot.
I'm not saying that Tributes should sit there and let someone come up and attack them. I'm sure there will be those who will try to take advantage of the idea; if it comes down to it, you should defend yourself. But when it comes down to the line, and if remaining Tributes all refuse to initiate on the other Tributes, what then?
no subject
That's a wonderful idea. I'd be happy to participate. Do you need help spreading the word?
no subject
Yes, any help would be great. [but he holds up a hand] But there might be some Tributes who aren't interested in listening, much less the idea at all. They might only trust themselves, and I wouldn't blame them. A lot of this depends on trust and counting on your fellow tributes.
[Daniel stands up. He's pleased that he's gotten the word to this Tribute and Punchy so far. There might be some hope of it spreading. He dusts off the pants]
Just...be careful. Please.

Are you, um. Leaving? You can take some more food with you for later.
no subject
Thanks, but I couldn't impose more. Keep it, for yourself and Blaine. I have a lot of people to try and find anyway.
Good luck.
