Who| Nick, Tabris, Ellis
What| Nick gets killed in the mini-arena. SURPRISEEEE.
Where| The forest area
When| Day 1
Warnings/Notes| Typical violence and zombie stuff.
Tabris
Nick didn't expect another arena to happen so soon but since when were these things ever convenient? It's the first time he started out alone since his first arena but each time after that he always managed to find Luke or Clementine and stuck with them. Now Luke and Jane are nowhere to be found and Clementine is gone for good - a fact that is more difficult to accept than he thought. Other names come to mind, like Ellis or Daryl but they never planned things outside the arena, something he wished he went over with them so he'd know where to go.
He opted out of going for the items this time, given how things turned out for him in the last arena. Instead, he bolted out of the door and towards the much more familiar forest. It's been a couple of hours since it started, but within that time he manages to find a large stick that is just broken enough at the tip to possibly hurt someone. Not that Nick thinks he can do much with it, but it's better than nothing.
He intends to lay low for now, quietly moving through the bushes and looking behind him every so often. With nothing but Pete's watch to keep him company like it always had. A part of him regretted not going for the cornucopia. Other than the reason that he just "knows" that he's going to die anyway, Jane and Luke could've been back there.
He's been told by others before that he needs to breathe more, so he exhales just loud enough for himself to hear. He's alone for now and needs to accept that. Still, Nick hopes to meet a friendly face at least and not run into any that are unfamiliar. Last time that happened, people fucking died.
Ellis
There isn't anything left of Nick. Alert blue eyes are replaced by a pair that are more cloudy and white. The snarl it emits comes out guttural with the hole through its neck, where blood ran through and down its chest, having gone dry since then. There is nothing here for it to eat, so it roams and roams until it finds something or someone that possess the flesh it craves.

El had seen this happen so often that his mind developed a coping mechanism to deliver the coup de grace on those he loved: he shut down his emotions. He tried his damnedest to just think of Nick as another Infected, that putting him out of his misery was the best course of action. Contrary to the ghouls back home, Walkers were shambling remnants, with the alertness of a coma patient...so the mechanic lay in wait...until he finds a particular spike to impale the man.

OH NO
"Sorry sugar, but I ain't lettin' ya go."
And that, he grabbed the nearest jagged rock and threw it squarely to Nick's forehead. This was to make him stumble upon his feet, and crack the skull before he shoved him onto the spike. He had to make it clean, but no risks of lounging.
Breaks my heart every time. Life is so unfair.
I'm not sorry for this tag though.
Putting all his strength into a charge, Ellis rushed the walker, body aimed low enough to not get bitten in the process. He might be immune to the Green Flu, but not this virus. He doesn't stop until Nick falls.

It falls but the promise of something to eat has it slowly start to rise again.

Sorry sugar, but I ain't lettin' ya eat me, I have a damn District to help out, the mechanic thought as he dropped his weapon squarely on the zombie's mouth. He knows he souldn't take the sounds of cracking bone this personally but this is necessary. This is how Nick would go.

It still moves as its cold eyes follow Ellis's gaze, but does nothing more to struggle because there's nothing to struggle towards.

"I'm so sorry...I'll catch ya...when we git home."

Landing, she turns to Nick, and flashes him a smile, fingers firm on her bow. Though she counts as unfamiliar, she certainly seems friendly enough. He might note there's a dimness in her eyes, as if despite the smile, her mind wasn't quite on him.
Tabris was tired. She was tired, and she wanted to go home, and go back to sleep. She didn't want this arena, didn't want all the ghosts of arenas past to come haunting her. She'd just spent most of the last couple weeks fairly inactive, and she was feeling it. The faster she got this over with, the better.
"This is some fucked up shit, huh?" She told him cheerfully. But Nick didn't need to feel deceived, she was already making her intentions clear, pulling out an arrow and notching it. "I don't even know what half these arenas are. Kinda bullshit if you ask me, but no one ever does."
no subject
"It's real bullshit, yeah. You don't gotta do this, man. I'm ain't lookin' for a fight."
The draw of the arrow is nerve wracking. It's been a while since he's seen a gun but the language behind the intention is the same. He takes a step back, gripping the stick in his hand despite knowing that it won't help much in this situation. From the look in her eyes and how she carries herself, Nick pegs her as someone who's probably too far gone, so he makes a run for it.

She watches him run calmly, and points the arrow, releasing it. Even as she watches the arrow sail and hit its target, she doesn't seem keen on expressing herself. She feels distant from emotions, like there's a glass wall in her mind. She knows that she wouldn't be normally behave like this. But Tabris has always done what she felt was best, no matter the emotional toll.
No matter the casualties.
She walks over after the arrow lands. She's not so distant as to leave a man bleeding to death. Mercy is still within her abilities.
"...Yeah, I know."
