[OPEN] ► Week 3 | On the Ice
WHO| Lindsey and OPEN
WHAT| Lindsey thought hiding in a crevice is a good idea to get out of the wind. Turns out it's a great idea. He's going to kill some people.
WHEN| 3rd Week
WHERE| Ice fields and crevice
WARNINGS/NOTES| Death, backstabbing, fighting, blood, gore. You know the drill.
A frozen wasteland. This arena had to be a freaking frozen wasteland. All the hard work that he put into learning those edible wild plants, as insisted by Eliot, was a waste of time when there wasn't even a leaf to be found anywhere.
He had hidden himself into the nooks and nannies, barely surviving, but who knew how much longer this could last. So when some hospitable sponsor gave him a rope, he decided to make good use of it by lowering himself into one of those large fissures in the ice, hoping that it would at least keep him out of the wind.
He made one of them his 'hideout' and spent the rest of the time trying to find hunt for anything. Birds for feathers, meat, eggs, even their stinky nests so he could get some things to burn. And, if he was lucky, he'll catch a tribute unaware too. Lindsey was damn determined to stay alive in this one.

Some minutes later found him looking from a distance at a rumpled heap. He was wary of approaching though, the person had a harpoon at their side. They were moving, but several more minutes in and he saw they weren't getting up. Moving in a bit closer and he noted that the person was a she, and she had a broken leg.
That instantly boosted his confidence.
Walking in the rest of the way, he smiled at her like any passing traveler would with another. "Can you fall a bit louder? I don't think the they heard you down at the end."

But it didn't take a lot to figure out she wasn't gonna walk this off. Wincing, she reached down to access the damage and managed, through the pain, to feel something hard under her hand.
And the only hard thing in that area was her bone. Which wasn't suppose to be outside her legs. She hissed, and let her head fall back.
And then heard his voice.
"You're not the welcoming committee, I'm betting."

"After all, angel falls from the sky, what else would I be if not welcoming?" He took drew his newly acquired hunting knife and held it casually.
"No hard feelings though. It's the rule of the game."

She gave him a grin, although it was much closer to a grimace. Because it wasn't really a secret what was coming next, and dammit, this was a pathetic way to go.
no subject
Taking the grin for a positive sign if not quite permission, Lindsey carefully moved closer.
"Any preference how you wanna go?" It was actually a kindly offer rather than a threat, but the undertone was still there that even if she didn't agree, he would be taking her life. She was too much of a sitting duck for him to not take advantage of it.

She leaned her head back, looking up at him, and even with the joking, the pain was clear on her face. Pale, and sweaty, despite the cold.
"So quick and painless?"
no subject
"We'll save the blaze for next time, sweetie." And with a sudden stab from behind, he sent all 7 inches of the knife straight through the back of her neck, severing the spine and protruding its bloody tip out from her throat.
Quick and painless it was.

Luckily he was fast, and she didn't have much of a chance. With a wet sound, her head feel forward, and it didn't take long for the consciousness to leave her eyes.

Maybe he'll treat her to a drink later when they're out.
In half an hour, only her body and her normal clothes were left. Whatever Lindsey could take he did. Hope she wouldn't mind that he strip searched her corpse.
