Who| Momoko and Sandy [Closed]
What| Momoko runs into someone who is actually younger and smaller than her.
Where| Near Sandy and Javert's hideout.
When| About midday, let's say.
Warnings| None at the moment.
This was not going to make Don happy. But then, this wasn't about making Don happy, after all. This was about making the viewers happy, keeping them interested, and somehow Momoko doubted that watching her shiver in a crevasse for days on end was very interesting. So she'd taken the chance to sneak away and do a little exploring, on the assumption that this particular Arena had the advantage that she could see anyone coming after her from a mile off.
And she was armed, of course. She wasn't stupid. It was only a knife tucked into her clothing, but it was enough to keep her feeling relatively safe as she wandered, searching for...something interesting. Something certain people would find interesting.

"And they loved to pick on kids. You don't let yourself get caught by the Reign. It might be the last anyone sees of you."

"They have a fancy name for the police here too, Peacekeepers. It's silly, I think, there's nothing wrong with just calling them what they are." They were making small talk now, she thought vaguely, which she supposed was better than the alternative.

"But it's not like any of us asked to come here."

"And we've both survived this long, that's something to be grateful for"

"Doing what we're told. How fun. If I wanted to take orders I wouldn't have cut class so much."

"I don't want to be watched! I don't want to fight and I don't want to die."

"How much did they tell you," she asked instead of completing the sentence.

"That we're here to fight and die on TV all for those districts full of people we've never met."

"Well it makes me feel better at least." She finally muttered uselessly.
"At the very least it reminds me I haven't gone completely crazy and just accept this all as right."

After a half a beat she added, "And I get it you weren't trying to make me feel better either so don't go jumping on that too."
"Is this really living though? Or is it just surviving?" That was the next thought to drift across the jumbled landscape of Sandy's mind.
