Laundry day

Who: Garrett and open
What: Old-fashioned clothes washing
Where: The lake
When: Sunday afternoon
WARNINGS: tbd

The landslide had been a surprise, and the thief counted himself lucky that he'd been out hunting when it occurred. His general paranoia had paid off well; everything he'd scavenged had been in his pack or on his person when it'd happened. Still, he'd gone back a few days later to see if there had been anything left behind that was worth taking. The climb through slippery swaths of mud and treacherous boulders that not only yielded no supplies, but it had left his clothes caked in mud and torn in a few places.

And so, he finds himself wearing the new clothing he'd "won" from the caves, and trying to wash his original outfit in the freezing lake. A observant watcher will notice that every minute or so he stops and listens, as if expecting to hear someone sneaking up on him. Just how fast can he grab that bow off his back and notch an arrow, anyway...?

"Well, I'll figure out something, maybe look for game that doesn't move around so fast. Something that fights back. At least it'll stick around longer." She murmured. If she had her companions, she could take down just about any animal. Wolves, bears, dragons, none of them stood a chance. But here, with her allies dead or wounded, she wasn't much up for optimal dragon fighting. "Someone told me that when you die, they, like. Bring you back to life. But he didn't know for sure, the only proof anyone's gotten that I know if is those little parachutes with notes attached, and those could be faked easy as blinking." She waved up to the sky, to indicate the sponsor gifts.

"So, they might be employing some weird necromancy at work, they may be yanking our chain. And it's not a guarantee that you'll come back, even if it is real, so. Who fucking knows." She gave a shrug, her eyes scanning the water. But with her noisiness, no fish seemed interested. She'll do it after talking to this guy. "But all I've ran into are people who don't know shit, and certainly haven't done more than one arena, so the theory isn't holding much water. Personally? I'd rather stay dead. That's what you expect to have happen, right? You get one go at it, you die, then whatever. 'S not natural to die over and over. People aren't meant to deal with that kinda shit."

"No kidding. I got people here that I know, and they never seen me, never heard of me. Everything I did? The person that they knew that did 'em was someone totally different. Talk about a mind trip." She swirled the spear idly as she spoke, looking out over the water. "The people in my world, we stay dead. No one comes back. But there are demons, and they can possess corpses. I doubt that's what they're talking about. It's...pretty obvious." She thought about Justice, watching him puppet Kristoph's body. God, that was creepy.

"Anyway, it's all hearsay. Guess I'll figure out if I die, huh?" She gave a little hollow laugh, and tapped the spear against her head. "Not the way I wanna find out, quite frankly."

"I would think they would want us to think that this is our only shot at living. You live or you die, and that's it. You fight better when you know your life is on the line." She commented, shrugging. She knew that she was certainly more encouraged when there was a serious chance of her dying. Even more so when there was a serious chance of those she cared about dying.

When he asked who she was, her lips split in a wide grin, and she stopped twirling the spear, slamming it into the ground, and...stroke a pose, puffing her chest out. If this was being televised, than by the Maker, she would make it look good.

"My name...Is Warden-Commander Revas Tabris, Hero of Ferelden, Hero of the 5th Blight, savior of Thedas in general, Arlessa of Amaranthine." She declared, and while a few of those were a little more questionable than others, no one was around to make her have to refine the details, like, she probably didn't save all of Thedas, she just cut drastically cut down the loss of life that would have happened had she not stopped the Blight in ground-breaking record time.

She stopped after a few moments, and pulled up the spear again, shooting Garrett a grin. "Most people just call me Tabris."

"I'm a mouthful of a woman." She replied, winking at him, before turning to the serious part of the conversation. She returned to twirling the spear idly as she spoke. Good practice, good for the antsiness she was plagued with. Probably good to show him she could handle the weapon, just in case. "If you've never heard of Thedas, you're definitely not from my world, 'cause Thedas is name of my world." She paused, and shrugged. "And you would have heard of me. Probably asked for an autograph! I'd be very flattered, naturally."

"But, that's neither here, nor there. Kinda weird, though. What's the point of getting people from multiple worlds, besides possible amusing mistranslations and cultural antics."
