[Open] Prehistoric fun with viking warrior lady

Who| Lady Sif and you
What| Various goings on
Where| Here and there
When| Week 1 and early week 2
Warnings/Notes| Nudity??

A. Pine forest

Sif never claimed to be a good craftswoman, nor would she call herself particularly creative, but desperation is often the mother of invention, and since she had not picked up anything from the cornucopia improvisation was going to be necessary for survival. If she was going to die, she wanted to go out fighting, she did not want to starve to death.

She had managed to craft a very crude carving tool out of stone, and was currently sat on a boulder amongst the pine trees trying to fashion a makeshift spear from one of the boughs that she had managed (with frustratingly great effort) to break off.

B. River

The river water was too cold to actually bathe in, but she all the same removed her clothing so that she could splash water on herself without getting it wet. She felt uncomfortably vulnerable, but at the end of the day the clothes weren't going to be that much protection and she would be putting them on again within moments. She had only wanted to get at least a little bit cleaner.

C. Choose your own adventure

If you want something with Sif (or we have plotted something) feel free to make up pretty much any kind of scenario.

Thanks to Porrim, Sam's got a decent supply of fresh water - and more than that, containers to keep full of fresh water. He's got an empty one around his neck now, as he heads down to the river to fill it back up.

He hears splashing in the water up ahead, and changes course, circling around so he can see who it is. Sam doesn't want a confrontation right now, and he can always move on to another part of the river, but if it's someone he knows, he can stop to check in.

Then he spots her, and oh, yeah, it's someone he knows. It's a lot of someone he knows.

Sam casts his eyes to a point on the other side of the river, looking past her, and clears his throat.

"You need a lookout?" he calls. "I promise I'll be a perfect gentleman."

Sam’s starting to think it’s just an Asgardian thing, the lack of modesty and general unreservedness. It makes him feel a little bit better about the fact that yeah, he’d totally looked at first.

He gives her a salute in response, leaning against one of the near by rock croppings to get a better vantage point.

“How cold is it in there, scale of 1 to ‘I may never actually get warm again?’”
sizeofyourbaggage: (that was actually funny)

“Oh, ouch, that was descriptive,” he says, giving a startled little chuckle.

He’s still not looking at her - not yet, anyway - but his grin is teasing as well, eyes crinkling a little in amusement.

“You’re a braver one than me, then, I think maybe I’ll think over the benefits of being covered with cave dust a little longer.”

Weapon crafting is never something that Isierka has taken much of an interest in. Mostly because there's never been a need for her to - like all dragons she carries her own weapons with her. Minus one very significant exception but she's gotten used to not having that particular weapon and she still has teeth and claws besides.

As such, she can't actually tell what Sif is doing, once she gets close enough to make the motions out. She can tell that there's some purpose to it, but the actual meaning isn't something that she can figure and that means get close enough to actually hold a conversation.

On the other hand, she's not making even the slightest effort to hide her approach, a fact that means that Sif will be treated to the perhaps less-than-enjoyable sight of a dragon approaching. A small dragon, yes - she doesn't stand much taller at the shoulder than a horse - but a dragon none the less.

No worries!

[personal profile] letthemburn 2015-03-06 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
At the very least, Isierka seems to recognize the threat present; she stops just short of anything that might be considered to be entirely too close. On the other hand, she looks quite entirely unbothered by the presence of even a weapon like the one that's being leveled at her, regardless of it being finished or not. She's no doubt that it could, eventually, get through her scales but she's still got her claws and teeth, and neither of those are something that should be discounted.

There's a moment of silence, not so much tense as considering, and then she speaks up, which should at least move her out of the 'something thought up for this Arena' category, for the most part.

"You do not need to worry that I shall attack you. There is hardly any reason to, yet."

One of the most important things necessary for continued survival is, of course, access to fresh water. They all know it, and so they take turns on water duty. Between the five of them, they have a few containers, so it simply falls to one or two of them at a time to go fill them up when they run low. Today, it's Cullen's job, and he trudges his way to the river valiantly, his hunting knife at his belt in case he runs into trouble.

What he runs into, instead, is a naked woman.

"Maker's breath!" he curses, his face going beet red as he gets far more of an eyeful than he ever wanted of a stranger, and he immediately turns his back to her, despite not knowing if she's hostile or not. She's clearly not armed at the moment, anyway.

"I beg your pardon, I was only - ah. The water..."

What did he do to deserve this?

Cullen cleared his throat uncomfortably, doing his best to keep from actually facepalming in embarrassment. Or running away. He'd run away before, from less. "The same could be said for being alone and - without your clothes," he said after a moment, wishing to Andraste that his ears would stop turning such a violent shade of red.

The Winter Soldier was no stranger to the wilderness. It had been a part of his training, a fact he knows without much conscious memory of how that training went down (except not pleasantly, no). As such he hasn't come into this arena without a good grasp of how to survive, even in that first week with no winnings from the Cornucopia or sponsor gifts he had managed to survive and keep himself fed enough to make it through to the second week, wherein he did have a small pile of sponsor gifts delivered to him.

When he see's Sif struggling with her attempt at making a spear Bucky has a simple solution to make it easier on her. They'd sent him two hunting knives and though the blades may not be meant for the purpose of sawing wood they can still be used that way well enough. He should know after using them to make his own spear.

Emerging from the shadows of the pine trees Bucky makes sure Sif see's him coming, saving calling out until he's close enough that he doesn't have to raise his voice too much. "Sif."

"You too." he says. He doesn't smile back but his expression softens in some way, no longer as on-guard as he normally is. Bucky trusts Sif because he knows what her motivations are, he can understand her and what she will do. It's so similar to himself in some ways.

He wonders if she's heard the news of Thor yet.

"You look like you're having trouble with that." he nods to her work-in-progress spear.

Arya had been in a similar position, coming away from the Cornucopia empty handed. She'd found a sharp, flat stone in the bed of the river, which she'd kept clasped tightly in her fist since, the edges slicing at her fingers and making them bleed. It wasn't an ideal weapon, meaning she'd have to get in much closer than she'd like in order to use it, and she knew that most of the other Tributes outmatched her physically, so she'd stuck to the forests and kept to hunting rabbits and small birds, slicing their throats and hacking off their skin, until the parachute from Clara had arrived and she'd gotten the knife instead.

She watches Sif from a distance, knowing that she'd do an even worse job of constructing a spear herself, especially if it was supposed to look good. There's a part of her that wants to help, but she's still wary of the other tributes, especially those she's not acquainted with yet.

"Is that for hunting people, or food?"

It was the snowfall that really caught Steve's attention. As much as he hates the cold, he doesn't actually have much of a physical sensitivity to it. But now that it's snowed though, Steve is much more aware of the nights growing colder, of how the ground leeches body heat at night, and he knows he needs to do something about that.

Best solution? Collect long grass and pine needles into beds, an insulated layer.

So, that's what he's out doing when he comes across Sif. He remembers seeing her on screen with Thor a lot, that they know each other, but Steve has yet to actually make her acquaintance. Probably due time.

He makes no effort to conceal himself, even if he keeps distance between them in the off chance she attacks. When she looks at him, he'll give a nod in greeting, "It's Sif, right?"

All Phil wanted was a drink of water that didn't stink of corpses. Nice, peaceful and- whatever thought came to mind disappeared as he heard the rustle of someone coming closer.

He didn't count on today having two events. One, he'd be seeing an Asguardian for the first time. Two, said being was now taking a bath and he'd have to book it before she inevitably murdered him for both the Arena and having accidentally walking in on her. He tried to sneak away, until he heard twigs snap. He held his breath, hoping she didn't hear him.

"Funny enough...I had no intent on that," Gray argued as best as he could, but avoided turning around. "Slaying you I mean. I just needed a drink."

He even raised his hands to let Sif know he wasn't armed or intending to harm her. "A-Are you with, uh, that-" Beast of a man named Thor? No that would be inappropriate. "Um blond guy running around tearing others?" Not much better but at least Phil was honest about his feelings and the destruction.
