[Open] Prehistoric fun with viking warrior lady
Who| Lady Sif and you
What| Various goings on
Where| Here and there
When| Week 1 and early week 2
Warnings/Notes| Nudity??
A. Pine forest
Sif never claimed to be a good craftswoman, nor would she call herself particularly creative, but desperation is often the mother of invention, and since she had not picked up anything from the cornucopia improvisation was going to be necessary for survival. If she was going to die, she wanted to go out fighting, she did not want to starve to death.
She had managed to craft a very crude carving tool out of stone, and was currently sat on a boulder amongst the pine trees trying to fashion a makeshift spear from one of the boughs that she had managed (with frustratingly great effort) to break off.
B. River
The river water was too cold to actually bathe in, but she all the same removed her clothing so that she could splash water on herself without getting it wet. She felt uncomfortably vulnerable, but at the end of the day the clothes weren't going to be that much protection and she would be putting them on again within moments. She had only wanted to get at least a little bit cleaner.
C. Choose your own adventure
If you want something with Sif (or we have plotted something) feel free to make up pretty much any kind of scenario.

He hears splashing in the water up ahead, and changes course, circling around so he can see who it is. Sam doesn't want a confrontation right now, and he can always move on to another part of the river, but if it's someone he knows, he can stop to check in.
Then he spots her, and oh, yeah, it's someone he knows. It's a lot of someone he knows.
Sam casts his eyes to a point on the other side of the river, looking past her, and clears his throat.
"You need a lookout?" he calls. "I promise I'll be a perfect gentleman."

"Greetings, Sam. It would be helpful if you could keep watch."
It'd make it at least somewhat less likely that she'll have to try to fight someone in the nude, which is more or less always preferable.

He gives her a salute in response, leaning against one of the near by rock croppings to get a better vantage point.
“How cold is it in there, scale of 1 to ‘I may never actually get warm again?’”
no subject
"Somewhere in the vicinity of 'my manhood may forever resemble a pebble from this day forth'."
She turns her head to smile a little at Sam even though he's not facing in her direction any longer, a teasing little smirk that makes the steely shine of her eyes soften to a much friendlier twinkle.

He’s still not looking at her - not yet, anyway - but his grin is teasing as well, eyes crinkling a little in amusement.
“You’re a braver one than me, then, I think maybe I’ll think over the benefits of being covered with cave dust a little longer.”

As such, she can't actually tell what Sif is doing, once she gets close enough to make the motions out. She can tell that there's some purpose to it, but the actual meaning isn't something that she can figure and that means get close enough to actually hold a conversation.
On the other hand, she's not making even the slightest effort to hide her approach, a fact that means that Sif will be treated to the perhaps less-than-enjoyable sight of a dragon approaching. A small dragon, yes - she doesn't stand much taller at the shoulder than a horse - but a dragon none the less.
so sorry that it took me so long to reply to this
Still, she has never been one to run, and in her currently weakened state she is not at all convinced that it would do any good, so she stands up and takes a fighting stance, holding her not quite finished spear in an experienced grip and ready to defend herself to the bitter end.
No worries!
There's a moment of silence, not so much tense as considering, and then she speaks up, which should at least move her out of the 'something thought up for this Arena' category, for the most part.
"You do not need to worry that I shall attack you. There is hardly any reason to, yet."

To be addressed by the strange creature was certainly not something that Sif was expecting, and it left her simply blinking in stunned surprise for a long moment as her mind tried to reassess the situation.
"You are... a tribute?"
Well, why shouldn't they come in shapes more varied than the basic theme of 'walks on two legs, has two arms and one head' that appeared to be the most common?

b because lolllll
What he runs into, instead, is a naked woman.
"Maker's breath!" he curses, his face going beet red as he gets far more of an eyeful than he ever wanted of a stranger, and he immediately turns his back to her, despite not knowing if she's hostile or not. She's clearly not armed at the moment, anyway.
"I beg your pardon, I was only - ah. The water..."
What did he do to deserve this?
oh Cullen you cutie (so sorry you had to wait so long for this tag)
His reaction made her decide rather immediately that she probably would not have to worry about him attacking her. Raising an amused eyebrow, she started to pull her clothes on whilst letting her gaze wander over him, sizing him up.
"Turning your back on a stranger is not a good idea in this place."
There was no threat in her voice, only a slight hint of teasing.
no worries!

"Fear not, I am no longer without them and your sense of modesty is no longer under siege."
She did not seem to be overly concerned with her own modesty, and was possibly having a little too much fun watching his reaction, but who could really blame her?
"These paltry rags would do me little good in a fight, I thought the risk worth taking."

When he see's Sif struggling with her attempt at making a spear Bucky has a simple solution to make it easier on her. They'd sent him two hunting knives and though the blades may not be meant for the purpose of sawing wood they can still be used that way well enough. He should know after using them to make his own spear.
Emerging from the shadows of the pine trees Bucky makes sure Sif see's him coming, saving calling out until he's close enough that he doesn't have to raise his voice too much. "Sif."
and a million years later I respond
The small smile she offers him is warm, he has become someone she considers a friend, a brother in arms. They are both above all committed to the protection of someone else, and she feels as if that in some way has created a special bond between them. They understand one another, these warforged sentinels.
"It is good to see you yet living."

He wonders if she's heard the news of Thor yet.
"You look like you're having trouble with that." he nods to her work-in-progress spear.

"I am not accustomed to working with such primitive tools."
Many elements of the Asgardian aesthetic, as well as their tendency to take swords to gunfights may seem archaic in some ways, their technology level is anything but, and it has been a long time since she had to make do with nothing but a stick to try to kill things.
She could, of course, but it is a clumsy process that she cannot say that she is overly fond of. She enjoys using weapons, she is quite content to leave their making to others.

She watches Sif from a distance, knowing that she'd do an even worse job of constructing a spear herself, especially if it was supposed to look good. There's a part of her that wants to help, but she's still wary of the other tributes, especially those she's not acquainted with yet.
"Is that for hunting people, or food?"
this took me far too long to respond to, I apologise
"You move quietly, that is good."
It is a sickening thing to know that she is expected to regard this child as a potential enemy. As if she would ever lift her hand toward someone so young. She would rather let the girl cut her slowly into a million pieces.
"But if your wish is not to fight, then make your presence known with more care so you do not end up with a weapon in your gut because you startled someone."
A or C, figure I left it vague enough if you want her doing something else
Best solution? Collect long grass and pine needles into beds, an insulated layer.
So, that's what he's out doing when he comes across Sif. He remembers seeing her on screen with Thor a lot, that they know each other, but Steve has yet to actually make her acquaintance. Probably due time.
He makes no effort to conceal himself, even if he keeps distance between them in the off chance she attacks. When she looks at him, he'll give a nod in greeting, "It's Sif, right?"
my apologies for taking an eternity to tag you back
She nods in response to his question, staying at a bit of a distance from him as well just to be safe.
"I answer to that name, yes."
He could be a friend of Thor, but he could also just be someone who has found out what her name is and is now trying to make it seem as if he is to make her an easier target.
B send help
He didn't count on today having two events. One, he'd be seeing an Asguardian for the first time. Two, said being was now taking a bath and he'd have to book it before she inevitably murdered him for both the Arena and having accidentally walking in on her. He tried to sneak away, until he heard twigs snap. He held his breath, hoping she didn't hear him.

Said in an even tone as the Asgardian kept washing herself, seemingly unconcerned with having company, though someone who knew what to look for might notice that she was in fact ready to spring into action at the slightest provocation.

He even raised his hands to let Sif know he wasn't armed or intending to harm her. "A-Are you with, uh, that-" Beast of a man named Thor? No that would be inappropriate. "Um blond guy running around tearing others?" Not much better but at least Phil was honest about his feelings and the destruction.
sorry about the delay darling
Granted Loki had told her that Thor had not been quite himself when they encountered one another, but she could not be certain that this man was referring to her beloved.
The thought of him sent a pang of longing through her. Where was he? It was driving her mad that she could not seem to find him, could not see for herself what was wrong with him. Her place was by his side, always, for how could she help him otherwise?
