Nothing in this world could ever bring them down.

Who| Courfeyrac, Combeferre, Grantaire, Joly, Marius, & Kenny
What| Springing a trap
Where| Near the space barricade in the abandoned area.
When| Backdated to Week 2
Warnings/Notes| Violence/Death

With a full week come and gone in the Arena, Courfeyrac was nearly tempted to allow himself a bit of relief. Of course it was premature, and deep down he knew as much, but even with his ankle shattered, he was hesitantly optimistic that one of them might be the winner this time.

But then the gravity systems started malfunctioning and all hell broke loose.

After surviving (somehow) for forty-eight hours, the Amis, consisting of Combeferre, Grantaire, Marius, Joly, and Courfeyrac himself were alive and in need of food. It was high time to reevaluate their situation.

"I propose a venture," Courfeyrac suggested, once the malfunctions seemed under control again. "We can split into groups and explore in search of food, and return within one hour. If we are not back in that hour, the ones of us who are here will mount a search."

He waited then for their approval.

Grantaire was in a miserable state. Lack of drink made him tremble, head pounding, lack of sleep made him snappy. Hunger gnawed at his stomach while nausea made him recoil at the thought.

"Marius, among the stars," he muttered and sighed, rolling over from his position where he was sprawled out upon the floor, having done very little to move since he'd last crashed back to the ground following the thus far permanent return of gravity. That last day in Corinthe seemed far away now, as if it had not happened at all. Better to think it hadn't, the finality of it was too sharp an ache, nostalgia would only give way to melancholy.

"Too bad we do not have wings, too bad we do not have weapons, too bad we are here at all. I think it is a stupid idea, if anyone cares to hear my opinion, but I have no alternative to suggest so naturally I am all for it. How shall we be divided?" If they were to divide them by affection he laid claim to Joly without hesitation, thought Combeferre and Courfeyrac would make the next natural pair, and left Marius in the cold. Poor Marius. Divide them by health and ability, Courfeyrac suddenly became his partner. Better to let the others decide it.
