The Kill Ring
WHO| Closed to Bro, Hiccup, and Astrid
WHAT| Hiccup gets attacked by Bro again but there's someone to intervene this time.
WHERE| Just some random place in the mall floor
WHEN| Week 4
WARNINGS| Death and sadness
They always stayed close to one another, even when they separated apart. After losing Ruffnut because she'd gone off to look around to scout, they thought it best not to be too far away from each other again.
Especially given Hiccup's state of mind, which was somewhat better but he still wasn't exactly with it. That was why, as he poked around the little perfume kiosk, to see if anything useful might be in those little bottles, he wasn't paying enough attention to his surrounding to realize someone was approaching.
"What is the point of this? Little bottles of smelly -" He sprayed one experimentally on the counter of the kiosk and watched as said counter started to bubble and melt. "Oh. Okaaay, I can see how that might be useful for the arena. Probably not a big seller outside it, but def'nitely useful here."

And who was he to run into but his old viking friend? It felt terribly ironic that he would run into him, given their encounter in the previous arena. This was a guy he certainly didn't mind offing, all things considered. And just as it happened, he stumbled upon him testing a perfume that seemed pretty damn useful.
He stepped out from his little hiding place (around the corner, so secretive). "Well looky who it is. My old viking pal." He didn't have his gun drawn, but he did have it at at his side, so Hiccup could see it. "Long time no see." He would see what the viking did, before drawing his weapon.

"Come on!"
He recognized the gun for what it was thanks to the weird death shooty thing they'd gotten from Ruffnut and dove behind the perfume kiosk.
"Can't you go find some other pitiful, one-legged person who can barely fight to go kill? Keep the audience on their toes? Don't you think they're going to get just a little bored with a repeat?"
He was speaking loud enough that Astrid, who was right nearby, would hear the distress in his voice, without giving away that she was there by signaling to her directly.
super sorry for the slow, I've had a busy few days
Even though his mood was terrible, he couldn't resist banter. "Oh, but don't you know that you're my pitiful, one legged person who can barely fight?" he asked, raising his eyebrows. "You hold a special place in my heart, y'know. And hey, we have such good chemistry they're probably eating us right the fuck up."
It was then that he decided to grab his gun and point it at Hiccup. "Anyway, didn't I say last arena that it was nothing personal? That shit never changed. This is just how the game goes, kid."

She should probably stay out of sight a bit longer, but knowing nothing about this stranger, she wasn't about to let Hiccup remain defenseless in what was obviously sounding like an inevitable attack.
Sliding out from behind the kiosk, she immediately points her own gun back over to this new enemy, a stern look on her face as her memory recalls the video she saw of Hiccup's previous face—and realizing exactly who it was that killed him.
"Sorry to say, but he's taken. You might want to move along and find someone else to taunt, because I don't plan on making this easy for you."

Come on, dude, just let this one goooo.
