Second verse

The sirens start late, late at night. Far closer to dawn than dusk.

The fog lingers as the heat goes up, as the siren's moan into the night, as the tributes can hear the world changing around them. But it clings, keeping the world hidden from their view, hot and wet, stuck to their skin.

When it lifts the world is more of a nightmare than the first round. Although there is similar decay, the world is harsher, the buildings seeming to be made of jagged metal, the whole world seeming to grind and shift, buildings slowly rotating from the center of town to the edge. Concentric circles move against each other, four of them, the first encircling the town green, the last ending at the edge of town, leaving the orchard, the town green, the lake and the amusement park as the only places not constantly moving.

Although the walls are not truly the harsh metal they seem to have been replaced by, and anyone chopping at them will find them still made of wood, dry wall, brick, and other various building materials, it still doesn't mean you want to get caught between two moving circles. They may seem slow, but they do not stop, and it is easier to get disoriented or lose your balance than you may think.

Above them, in the sky, is a huge metal grate covering the whole sky. Anyone who gets within 20 feet of it find their powers flickering, and then they're gone. In addition they will find themselves violently sick and disoriented. If they're lucky their powers will kick back in before they hit the ground.

For those who have found themselves affected by the food and water in the arena, like the rest of the creatures, they find their anxiety and violent tendencies going up...but that's not all. In the heat they begin to change.

Their skin starts to slough off as they sweat, especially in the mist, peeling like a very wet sunburn, and the skin underneath is pale, slimy, much closer to the walker's skin. Hair also starts to leave, and their jaws ache. Badly. Because lots of sharp teeth are starting to push up and through.

And no matter how much they eat, they are losing weight aggressively. And their hunger doesn't seem to sated, although being hungry doesn't seem to slow them down.

Mentally, they are still themselves right now, but it is hard to fight through the feeling of aggression and rage. Not impossible, but it is a battle.

And has your zombie friend been clinging on still? They will be going nuts, now. Attacking anything that moves, but most especially you. They are hungry.

And if you figure out a way to keep them away from you and everyone else? Well, they are not oppose to some self cannibalism. By the end of this hellrena, if they aren't dead already, you're going to have to mercy-kill them.

OOC Notes: This Hellarena will be between 3-4 days IC. If the consequences of eating/drinking are too intense for you to feel you can play out, contact a mod and we'll try to work out some alternate plot with you.
