WHO | Draco Malfoy and whomever comes across him
WHAT | now that the initial rush has died down, Draco's planning on finding the rest of the junk people left behind.
WHEN | a couple days after the Cornucopia
WHERE | the ruins, E-10 or so.
WARNINGS / NOTES | none right now. probably somewhat graphic descriptions of Arena-induced illness.
He hadn't gotten anything from the Cornucopia, he hadn't found anything in the small area of the forest that he had bothered exploring; he had found enough food to keep himself from starving, but without his magic, he couldn't shrink it down to keep. He had to just keep finding things that wouldn't kill him. It was bloody well frustrating.
But Draco knew that there were things left over from the Cornucopia. He just didn't know where they were. But he'd find them if it was the last thing he did. (Preferably not, though. He didn't like dying much.)

So he was there again, quietly weaving through the trees towards the ruins. That's when he spotted Draco, and he quickly stopped, watching the kid tottering around the ruins.

Draco glanced around, muffling a cough in the crook of his elbow as he scanned the trees; he felt like someone was there, and wouldn't that just be his luck. He thought he had camped this area out well enough, but he supposed maybe not.
"Hello?"

Should he help Draco? See what he does? Probably for the best. So he stayed where he was, watching quietly.

He simply pursed his lips and began scrounging about again, crouching down beside a handful of small plants, peering closely at the berries as best he could, glancing up every now and then to make sure he wasn't about to get ambushed.
After he'd gathered another small handful of berries deemed suitable for consumption, he pushed himself up again, putting on a confident sneer. "You know, I can tell you're out there. Do yourself a favour and just stop hiding."

Of course, she'd been coming out during the day for food - well, what she was going to pretend was food - and it was on the way back from one of these little gathering trips that she spotted Draco.
And by 'spotted' I mean 'almost walked into as she turned the corner of the building while stuffing her face with berries'.

"Where did you come from?" Draco asked, voice rising a little. He'd let her go as soon as he thought she wasn't a threat. "What are you doing?"

"I-I've been living here." She stammered, looking the stranger in the eye. "I w-was just looking for food."
She paused. Was she better off trying to run, or staying put? She decided on the latter, for now.
