As much as he’d like to hole up in the house and watch Clara, he knows, realistically, he can’t do that. They need food, water. Or at least his wife does. Him, he’s not so sure. It’s not like they can open up the rig and find out if he even has a stomach. Alex assumes maybe he can. Or he can’t and he’ll die of food clogging up his internal circuitry or whatever the hell is keeping him alive. He bets the Capitol didn’t see that one coming.
He finds the amusement park behind the Cornucopia, which stands dark and silent in the fog. It’s not his first stop and yeah, he thinks the place is creepy at night, even with the visor down to make sure he didn’t trip on something and die of tetanus. An abandoned rollercoaster looms up like a ghost. Alex is making his way behind the stalls when he hears something. Several somethings: what sounds like footsteps off to the right…and a weird beeping noise overhead, a little red light coming closer and closer. The footsteps are closer, Alex able to see a vague shape that looks tall, skinny, and doesn’t seem like it’s holding a weapon.
Alex decides to risk it by breaking his cover. “Hands where I can see them.”
He uses his cop voice (or tries to), the one that usually gets suspects to go shit, he’s not fooling around. Hopefully it still works.
