Who| Zelos and Perry (CLOSED)
What| Checking out the masks
Where| Second floor
When| Backdated to beginning of Week 3
Warnings/Notes| n/a
After that disaster a couple days ago with the entire third floor pretty much reduced to rubble, Zelos was even more determined than before to have a look at these masks that were somehow giving people their abilities back. In retrospect, it probably hadn't been very smart to taunt Gabriel, but hey, how was he supposed to know the guy was so powerful? He didn't exactly act like it.
It'd been a stroke of luck that he'd met someone who was willing to go with him, after the initial unpleasantries had been exchanged, because he sure as hell wasn't going to try out some potentially dangerous artifact without having backup. Last thing Zelos wanted was to get put in a vulnerable position and bam, slice of the neck, then dead.
"How well did you say you could defend yourself again?"

True, this encounter had been different, the usual problem everyone had when you meet someone else here. But they had talked, the two of them. And when Zelos said he wanted to test out the masks, Perry had shrugged and agreed to it.
The masks have interested, but he's only getting to see them in use now. "Really well." He glanced over. "No matter what happens, you're not going to kill me." He wasn't discounting that he could be hurt. Just not killed.
"What do you think might happen?"

He'd half-expected Perry to shoot him down and take a shot at him, but this was much better. Probably helped that they were in the same district. That was why he'd gone out of his way to not encounter Guy or otherwise. Anything might happen, and it might be unpleasant to live with someone who'd killed you.
"I don't really get how these masks work, you know," he answered, walking in the direction of where he remembered the exhibits were. "I hope you're prepared for anything."

He wasn't going to die. "I wasn't prepared to most of the things here, but I'm good at adapting." That actually made him smile, just a little. They were on the right path, and Perry kept a watchful eye out. Just in case someone showed up before they got there.
"What about you, though? These things look dangerous, they have to hurt the person wearing it in some way, right?"
no subject
"That's what you're here for," he answered, tossing his first aid kit to Perry. "There's not much left in it, but I hope you know how to use it."
Just in case.

"So I'm here to both not die and play doctor?" Perry asked, though there was a small, teasing sort of smile on his face. He held the kit beneath one arm, and made sure he had the crowbar in the other.
"I want to let you know that when this is done, I'm getting a tape of this and we're watching it."

He held it up and gave the mask an unimpressed look. "This is going to be the gaudiest thing that's ever been put on my handsome self."
no subject
"No, wait, don't say that." He held up the hand that was holding the crowbar, if only because he wanted him to wait, and he didn't have any hands free. "They'll try to outdo that when we get back to the Capitol. Just because you said so."
He took a step back. "Now put the hideous mask on and let's do this."
no subject
He stared down the inside of the mask with trepidation briefly before putting it on with eyes closed. He waited for a moment, then two, before he opens one eye and looks at Perry. He didn't feel any different, that was for sure. "Well?"
no subject
He didn't really know, but he expected something more then just this. Which was nothing. Pretty much nothing.
"You look like an idiot wearing an ugly mask."
