Kiss kiss die [Complete]
Who| Elsa, Anna and Hans
What| Elsa puts on a mask and bad things happen
Where| Floor 2
When| Week 3
Warnings/Notes| Impalemeeent
Time has a way of passing both slowly and quickly in the arena, Elsa's noticed. It's already been a little more than a week since she'd been dumped into this death trap and she's a little surprised by how easily it's been to adapt. The fact she's lived her entire life avoiding people is probably what makes it come effortlessly here, now.
And yet just because it's a death trap doesn't mean Elsa hasn't taken the opportunity to enjoy herself. As people all around her, Anna and Hans die, she's found little ways to pass the time. The museum has so much to offer and see that even though it's pretty miserable, in an odd way she's enjoying herself. Maybe it's because she's a little like Anna and can find humor in things, even if she isn't usually prone to.
As of now, after a bit of gentle prodding, she's gotten them to come back to the second floor so she can finish looking through it. The masks here are so strange to her, yet some of them have a certain... charm to them that she can't help but like.
After a few moments, she plucks one off the wall. "Hey... look at this one." It sounds like she's holding back a chuckle, trying to act dignified as a queen should. She turns around and holds it near her face, not quite putting it on. "Isn't it adorable?" And then she makes kissy noises in a moment of weakness.

Hans is trailing between the two sisters as they make their way through the exhibit, it's hard to figure out if he'd rather lead the way or linger behind. He doesn't regret his choice to hang around the middle when Elsa lifts up that mask. He stifles a laugh before hushing Elsa, taking a small step closer so he can whisper to her.
"Put it on and chase Anna." He bounces a little on his heels as he points toward the other sister, giving Elsa a sly look. It's been tense for weeks now, he can't help wanting to play around a little given the opportunity.

Elsa loosening up a little bit was awkward to Anna, but she didn't question it. It reminded her of how much fun they'd had when they were children, and those were memories that she very much wanted to revisit. So it didn't take much for her to agree to going back to that (super creepy) level of the museum. Anna lingered behind them, as she kept getting distracted by things and would stop to stare and look.
She completely missed Hans whispering something to Elsa, but she did turn in time to see her sister playing with the mask and making kissing sounds. Giggling, she turned to face them completely, smiling as she tucked her arms behind her back. "Oh! It looks so happy and sweet!"

She brings the mask up to her face and presses it on, turning towards her sister. "Come here Anna, it wants a kiss!" She makes more kissy noises, moving to run at Anna- only to stop a second later as she realizes there's something very wrong.
Her ice magic is back. She can tell immediately and without shoes or gloves, ice begins forming instantly under her. She stops, heart sinking and stomach twisting. Just knowing they're back causes her fear and anxiety to spike, which in turn intensifies the ice, which spreads from beneath her feet.
"R-Run!" she stutters out, fear coating her voice as she stays frozen in place, hands starting to shake.

He almost curses as Anna turns too quickly to be scared, because he has a pretty wicked sense of humor at the best of times. Regardless, her reaction is enough to draw a soft laugh from Hans as he watches the scene unfold. However, his joy doesn't last long as he's quick to notice that ice forming.
"Queen Elsa-" He starts, carefully trying to circle her without running the risk of being impaled. "You need to keep calm." And in turn, he steadies his voice easily, holding his hands out in front of him.

"Elsa, it'll be okay," she whispered, taking a cautious step forward. "Just calm down, we'll work this out."
She glances towards Hans, hoping that he can help calm her down. Really, really hoping. But with the ice creeping forward, it doesn't seem likely.

Her voice is desperate- up until now, she'd been fairly calm, but now the fear and danger of the entire situation is hitting her all over again and causing a snowball effect of fear, which only intensifies her powers further. It's as if the heavy wind from outside is blowing straight through the walls, because it starts blowing inside as well and snow starts flurrying around.
She knows what they're saying is true, that she needs to calm down- but it's as if all of the fear she'd felt just before getting here is coming back, along with every bit of fear she'd had before finding Anna and Hans.
"No!" she says in response to Anna. "I-I can't, you have to run, I-" She seems to realize this all started when she put the mask on and she reaches both hands up to try and tug it off. The very second her hands touch it, she feels ice race over it's surface and underneath it, causing the mask to cling to her face harder, freezing it firmly in place.
Elsa gasps and tugs, but it won't budge and she stumbles backwards, trying desperately to get it off as her chest heaves and hands shake.

"We aren't going anywhere." He assures, but he realises it may just put more stress on the situation. Oops. "Take deep breathes." He advices, circling her again to get a better few of the situation and discreetly pacing backward. He'll cast a glance to Anna, wide-eyes setting expectantly on her. After all, she's fixed this before, and as far as she knows he has no idea how dangerous she can be.

"We're not leaving you, Elsa... Just do what Hans says, take deep breaths, we're right here for you, I promise."

Elsa can't see very well out of the mask; the eye slits are tiny. It makes it hard to judge the distance between herself and Anna as the other approaches. She can't hear Anna very well through the sound of the forming blizzard whipping around her ears. What she does know is that Anna is getting close, though.
It's just like when she ran away from Anna at the ball. She makes a motion with her arm to urge Anna back, an action she should know better than to do. The ice moves with her hand, a barrier of ice spikes forming with the motion of her arm. There's a big difference between this and what happened in the ballroom that becomes apparent- Anna is much closer this time. Too close to avoid the sharp tip of the ice as it shoots from the ground right towards her.
The words Elsa had been about to say die in her throat as she watches, unable to stop it from happening.

What happened next happened so fast that Anna hardly knew how to react. She saw the ice barrier forming, but wasn't able to move away fast enough. She didn't make a sound as one of the spikes pierced her, her jaw dropping and eyes widening. She didn't think that was possible, the ice actually hurting her. Elsa actually hurting her. The sound that finally did come out what something of a whimper as tears formed at the corners of her eyes. As the shock wore off, the pain set in and Anna had to wonder, really, just how long it would be before she'd just stop feeling.
Because oh god oh god oh god... that was quite a bit of blood trailing down that scary looking ice spike now.

He nods as she glances his way, trying his best to look reassuring without disregarding the gravity of the situation. It's too late when it becomes clear that Elsa is more unstable than he'd realised at first. It all seems to happen within seconds, before he can verbalise any assistance to Anna or even do so much as half-heartedly push her aside. It's a gruesome sight to behold, one that has him reeling. He draws in a sharp breath before letting it out in a strained cry.
"ANNA!" He can't logically allow this to stretch on anymore than it has, but he needs a moment to take it in. He warily approaches, hand in the hilt of his sword and chest rising and falling as he does his best to display the amount of grief appropriate for a man who has just witnessed the death (because he isn't so optimistic as to believe she'll survive that) of his lover at the hands of her sister. It's clear that there is little he can do, approaching more would only put him too close in the range of potential death. He will pretty much have to watch her lights go out, he kind of hopes she does that quickly so he can proceed.
"You killed her--" Almost. His voice breaks, intentionally of course, his acting skills are flawless. "I must ask you to stand down, Queen Elsa." His voice takes on a more stern tone, increasing in volume as the snow inevitably does too.

Hans' cry of her name is what finally seals it and the despair crashes over her. Pain grips her heart but cruelly doesn't rip it out as she so wishes it would. All she can do is stare helplessly at Anna, the mask hiding how pained her expression is. She'd finally done it- the one thing she'd spent her entire life trying to prevent herself from doing. She'd finally hurt-
Killed, her sister.
It's only a second after Hans speaks that everything just sort of stops. The snow that had formed freezes in midair and everything goes ghostly quiet save for the sound of the rain slamming against the windows outside. Elsa lets out a pained, devastated noise.
"Anna..." She doesn't register Hans had spoken- even if she did, what could she do? She hadn't done it on purpose. She couldn't control it. She's standing down as much as she can right now. "I-I..." Her legs are like lead and as much as she wants to move forward and try and help, she can't bring herself to do it. Nothing is working. Nothing except her heart, which is experiencing a pain she never thought possible.

She'd been hurt before, sure... There were times where she was sliding down the rail and fell off among many other things. But this was a whole new level of pain that wouldn't stop. It was cold, but it felt as though it set every nerve of hers on fire. Try as Anna may to keep her eyes open, to stay alive because maybe someone could help her? She did not succeed.
The shock to her system had her slipping away faster and faster until finally her crying died down as her eyes closed and everything went black.

However, he's played this part before and Elsa is already falling into that same sad state that seems to debilitate her powers some. He needs to nip this in the bud and move on so he isn't associated with murder so much as self defence. "This can't go on, Elsa." He opts for a more casual address. "You understand what I need to do, don't you?" He makes his approach again, tiptoeing carefully. "I'll send you back with Anna- you'll be safe there." He assures, not coming much closer until he can gauge her reaction.

And then Hans is there, speaking and offering the one thing she feels like she deserves more than anything. She knows what he's saying is absolutely true- except for the part about being with Anna. She will never step foot near Anna again after this, that much she's absolutely sure of. A devastated cry rips from her throat and all she can do for the moment is nod. She knows.
"Please," she manages to get out after a few second, her tone full of desperation. Please do it, please give her what she deserves. She's a monster and monsters don't deserve to live. Especially not monsters who kill their sisters when all they were trying to do is help. When they believed in her and had all of the faith that she could control her powers and not hurt anyone. It hurts Elsa so much that if Hans doesn't kill her, the grief might very well do it first.

They'll die anyway. They'd have died anyway. He isn't doing anything wrong speeding up the process. He needs to get rid of the baggage and rise up for his recognition. It's just a means to an end he deserves. His voice is resonating loud in his mind as he steps toward her, blocking out the sounds of her suffering and sadness. All he can hear is himself, and that's all that matters.
He nods, but he gives her no other indication. There's no sense drawing it out, she might change her mind. He begins raise his sword, wasting no time bringing it down with force against her neck. All he can hear now is a loud, near-painful ringing that seems to block out all of his previous thoughts. He thinks he closed his eyes, but he knows he hit his mark.

But even when you know you deserve it, there's still a fear that comes along with it. She can just barely see him raise his sword through the slits in her mask and the tears in her eyes. For a brief moment, the fear flairs back up inside of her at the idea of actually dying and the storm kicks back up as if it had never stopped. As it swings towards her, she flinches and throws up her hands in a knee jerk reaction and in doing so, a jet of ice magic shoots from her hands and hits him directly in the chest without her even realizing it, her eyes having closed as she waits for the blow to come.
It does and in one swift motion, she's beheaded with barely any time to feel the pain. Her body slumps forward and her head falls to the floor with a gross thud, the action finally enough to dislodge the mask. Her eyes are still open wide, the anguish still apparent in them.
The ice storm dies abruptly, the snowflakes melting as they come to rest on the floor.

He breathes a sigh of relief and gives his sword a flick to remove some of the blood, slipping a hand through the gaps between his buttons to feel his chest. Cold. Very cold. That can't be good. There's a high chance he's hallucinating it, his mind could easily play tricks at a time like this.
Sheathing his sword, he steps backward with his eyes glued on the bloody scene before turning and striding toward the elevator as quickly as he can. His mind is racing over the symptoms Anna displayed and he's still filled with the sick, dull sensation that such a horrific situation would leave many people with. The ringing hasn't ceased yet, but he feels so much more secure when he finds the elevator. He collapses against the wall of it, sucking in air as he waits for it to take him anywhere but there.
