OTA Action Post
WHO| Tate Langdon & You!
WHAT| Trying to leaving Cornucopia island
WHEN| After first night, afternoon
WHERE| E-5 to Q-4
WARNING/NOTES| None at the moment, but is open to attacks - feel free to mess him up, or start an alliance!
Tate felt like he was in Rambo having to find a way to carry the machete between his teeth in order to swim with it. He felt like he looked ridiculous, but it wasn't really the time or place to care how you looked. All that mattered was survival and taking out the other tributes. He couldn't afford to waste time as he quickly got into the water and worked to swim towards the larger island, staying by the reefs and not getting in too deep.
His head kept turning and watching for other tributes as he approached the new shore. Although he couldn't feel the temperature, the water would weigh down his clothes, causing him to stop and wring them out, stripping his shirt in the process. He was content when the machete would sit well hanging from his belt.

Against his better judgement, he'd headed out in the afternoon. Much like Tate, he held the machete in his mouth as he swam the distance. He stayed alert. This was a new land. A new land meant new creatures and new enemies. Sasuke wasn't going to die just because of overconfidence.
Surprisingly, the swim went smoothly. In the distance he could see the land. As he got closer he frowned, blinking a bit of blurriness from his vision. There was someone who'd just pulled themselves from the water onto the shore. His feet were just able to touch the sand below as he stopped. It was no spot for a shinobi; too open and too vulnerable and he was sure the other could see him. For now he needed to make due, waiting for the other to make the first move.

"I see you." he let the other young man know.

Sasuke moved so he waist deep in the water, watching the other. He removed the machete from his mouth, but his stance stayed fairly neutral. He wasn't sure how capable the others trapped here with him were. So for now he'd continued to play cautious.

"Having fun swimming?"

He shifted, moving to the left of his position. The water was no place to fight, especially when he couldn't use chakra to stand on it. He stayed silent as he watched the other, trying to figure out exactly what he could do.

"So are you gonna come fight me or just sit there in the water like a coward?"

So many logical thoughts flashed through his mind. No. Don't be baited like this. It's a trap. Don't underestimate him.
Logic was something Sasuke had long forgotten though. Logic was something for people who hadn't lost their entire family because the leaders of their village deemed them expendable. His knuckles were white from his grip on the machete, as he gave the other a twisted smirk. If he wanted a fight, Sasuke would give him one.
"You sure you want to challenge me, idiot?"

She was already halfway across when she spotted a familiar figure with a machete in his teeth just ahead of her. Her breath hitched, and she slowed somewhat, ducking her head a little bit to make sure she stayed out of his view until she figured out what she was going to do. Her own spear would doubtless help her considerably if he tried to attack; she knew how to defend, and hers was more mid-range than his short-range machete.
But she still didn't want to take him on as soon as they got to the shore. That couldn't possibly go well.

One well placed shot with her spear could take him out, but if she missed, she'd be without a weapon. Instead, Ariadne darts behind a nearby tree, pausing to catch her breath - adrenaline has her heart in her throat, and she thinks that this whole 'Career' Tribute strategy she has might be harder than she thinks.

Ariadne swallowed thickly, scooping up a particularly harsh looking rock from the nearby brush, and aimed a well-placed throw at his head.

She threw it with the sort of concentrated force that she had been practising, both in the Capitol before the Games, and with her spear alike. The rock and her weapon were so similar that it was well and possible the ability to throw was transferable. But with that, she'd also given her position away to some extent.

"Motherfu-" he mumbled as his eyes glared. He couldn't see straight just yet, but he was fueled to start moving. It wasn't out of his mind whomever hit him was about to strike again and it could easily be a fatal blow the next time.

But it didn't feel real. It was too easy at this point, especially since she knew Tate was one of the more dangerous Tributes. She'd seen him do too much for him to just die like this. She hefted her rock a little higher, ready to run if he fled. He wouldn't fight, she didn't think. Not like this.
"You're still alive," Ariadne said aloud, raising her voice slightly to be heard.

His machete was drawn and while he probably looked unable to use it, was going to pretend he could as he faced where the voice had come from, "Show your fucking self!"

She was growing a bit more confident, a bit more reckless: "Just come find me, if you can," she called out to him instead.
no subject
"Yeah?-" he took a step forward, stumbling from the wound on the back of his head still throwing him off balance and losing blood. He still held his weapon out as if he could strike, not letting her see anymore weakness than was already present.
"Well- I'll...find you! Bitch!" His hand went to his head, returning in front of him cover in blood and he knew he couldn't chase after her. No, he would need to fix this wound first. "So go fuckin' run and hide- I'll still find you!" He may not be able to move, but he would still throw those threats out there.

He was stumbling, wielding his weapon like she might just run into it of her own volition. It was a sort of laughable moment, and Ariadne was pleased to see him in this situation. He deserved it, after all that he'd done in the last pair of Arenas.
Maybe now he'd start seeing her as a threat.
