His face has twisted. His tongue is acid. He hopes every word stings the Signless. He hopes it burns.

"Motherfucker, you lied to me... and you threw it in my face." And you know exactly what he's talking about, don't you Signless? Motherfucking don't you?

Out bursts another laugh. Another humorless, dead, motherfucking laugh.

Wouldn't that have been funny. Him responsible for sparing people of their doom, of the inevitable death to follow. They were, really, so damn alike. But he would not be of sin as the Signless was. Of his own self at least, the salvation promised would be true.

But he can't undo what happened to Mituna. The Mituna who suffered. The Mituna who was dead. His beloved, his diamond, his best friend. And it had to be this motherfucker.

"But I'm going to offer you a chance at repentance. I'M GOING TO GIVE A SECOND GODDAMN CHANCE WHAT TO SORT AND RESOLVE YOUR OWN DAMN RIDDELBOX FORMED OF THE FALLACY AND HERESY WHAT ALL YOU YOURSELF CREATED. What can he say? There's no response to vitriol like that, no way to magically calm a raging indigo. All he can do is watch as the Initiate storms off, still shellshocked, and terrified by the fact that he wasn't just killed outright. That means something worse is coming, and he knows very well how fantasically inventive the Initiate can be.
