we hunted the mammoth;
Who| The Thedosian contingent; allies???? If you have CR with any of the Dragon Age peeps you're welcome to join in~
What| There's some big fucking mammoths out there. They gonna kill one and take its stuff.
Where| WHERE THE MAMMOTHS ARE.
When| Super early week 1, before they all ran away.
Warnings/Notes| Violence, animal death, etc. See below for a couple of thread starters.
Desperate times call for desperate measures. This arena is plentiful in snow, and cold, and trees. It's also plentiful, from what Cullen has been able to discern, in game animals. Some of them very large. And there are some among their number - Iron Bull - who really enjoy killing the biggest things they can find.
Cullen isn't likely to discourage them this time around. After all, the big furry beast, if they take one down, could provide them with meat for a week or more, not to mention fur, bones and sinews which can be made into all kinds of useful things.
As far as he's concerned, if they can take one down, they'll be set to survive for a good long time.
So they've gathered all the weapons they can lay their hands on, and they're on the hunt. Spotting one of the big beasts, Cullen waves the others forward, crouching low behind some scrub.
"Thoughts on strategy?" he asks his companions.

Pre-fight planning!
"This will be a long, tough fight, no doubt. My suggestion would be to surround it and try to wear it down."
since we had plans like this I'm hoping Roland's allowed to be here? Can delete if not

Looking at their pile of supplies it was... distressingly small. A few knives between them for weapons, even with Dorian's tied to his makeshift stave; his net trap that didn't look like it would be enough to even tangle one of those beast's feet, much less the rest of it....
"Or perhaps we could use the mountains again," he suggested. "And catch one in an avalanche."
It had worked on a dragon.

Although Bull claimed that Maxwell was no different from his own Inquisitor, Bull had zero reports on the man, had no stories to go by. He didn't know his level of skill, how he fought, how he managed.
That should've taken top priority in the face of the large beast, one that was beginning to get Bull excited to go up against. "I say we flank it, use the fur to climb up and attack from above ground."
How hard could that be?

Last-gasp, desperate sort of strategy, that. And highly dangerous, especially given their current set of supplies.
"Is there a ditch or ravine nearby? That would be a good plan if only we could work out a path for it."

Action!

"Hello!" He cried in a loud voice to attract the attention of the incredibly large mammoth - which, unfortunately, looked a good deal larger this close to one. "Yes, you, you giant hairy lummox! Would you mind? You've been stinking up this entire side of the forest for days!"

"That's right, hit it right where it hurts, Dorian - right in the feelings," he muttered to anyone close who could hear, his eye rolling upward, and he was on the move to get around to the beast's flank.
