Go, Go, Godzilla!
Who| Eddie, Suze, and Guy.
What| Huntin' dinos.
Where| Starting at the T-rex's cage, then into the jungle.
When| Back dated to soon after the T-rex's appeared.
Warnings/Notes| Death.
Eddie was exploring the ruins, and the twisted metal of the cages that had clearly been broken apart recently, and was admiring it when he became aware of the heavy breathing behind him.
The big, heavy, breathing.
"Shit." He moved quickly back to the edge of the trees, back to where he'd wander from Suzannah, moving like the ground was lava.
"Shit, shit, what the hell..." He cursed, as he finally stopped to look back, seeing the behemoth T-rex, which, thankfully, hadn't seemed to see him.
Now he could see the bars around it, and felt a little idiotic for booking it so fast, but, you know. It wasn't every day you realized you were standing in front of a T-rex. In fact, he could solidly say this was a first.
"Son of a bitch. You see that thing?"

There's an odd smile on her face, like she's looking forward to taking on a dinosaur with nothing but a bow and arrow.
"You might want to boost me to your shoulders, Eddie, sugar. I need to know if there's a thinking cap to aim for."

Then he saw the cage. Then he moved in closer to see what was in the cage.
Then he saw what was in the cage and gasped, choking down a scream.
"Big lizard! Big death lizard!" he hissed in a voice that was quieter than Susannah and Eddie's voices, but loud enough for them to hear. "Oooh no. Oooh that is a very big death lizard."
no subject
But right now, in the arena, fighting off withdraw, it was everything he wanted.
When he heard Crood he turned, hands steadying the woman on his shoulders, not taking the chance that he wasn't about to shank them.
"You think?" he hissed back.
no subject
"Yes," she says, voice rather friendly despite the whole aiming an arrow at Guy thing. "It's a very big death lizard. Eddie and I are going to shoot it dead. Do you want to help us or do you want to leave? Because, sugar, I really don't recommend still bein' here when we do."
no subject
He lifted up his spear, showing it off.
"If you're going to kill this thing to bits before it gets a chance to eat us, yeah, I think I can get behind that."
He moved in closer, cautiously. "I think we're going to have to get it in the eye and try to get its brain. Our weapons are too small to do much damage anywhere else and its heart might be hard to find."
no subject
But the eye? Those were usually pretty squishy.
"Let's do this shit then." He said, shifting Susannah again, making her secure on his shoulders. "We're Eddie and Suze. You?"

He let out a small snort of disgust, before glancing over at Guy.
"Guy. Nice and informative there. I'm Eddie, this is Suze, welcome to team badass." Glancing up towards Suze, he tightened his grip on his thigh. "Sounds like we've got a plan, you ready to shoot?"
no subject
This, Eddie, this is the woman with whom you've placed your affections.
"I'm always ready, sugar. I'll just need you to do a quarter turn to the left so I can aim better... yeah, that's good." As she takes aim, either Eddie or Guy might hear that she's muttering under her breath. It almost sounds like she's reciting something.
"... I kill with my goddamn heart," she finishes, a little louder than the rest of it, and lets the arrow fly.
The good news is, it hits the death lizard square in the eye.
The bad new is, it doesn't seem to have penetrated far enough into the eyeball.
That's one angry death lizard currently bashing itself against its cage right there.

Guy moved in, leaning his whole body back to put as much force as he could on the spear throw, but even though he moved fast, it wasn't quite fast enough. With horrible screeching and groaning noises, the metal gave and then snapped, right before Guy was about to throw the spear.
The creature turned to bear down on them.
"RUN!"

He laughed, but there was something under there, and Suze would see it. Even if he wasn't her Eddie, she would pick up on the darkness under that sentence.
He shifts, balancing her careful, and starting to do a cheer when the arrow hits...and then sees it doesn't work.
And neither does the back of plan.
"Good plan C!"
He twist, and runs, gripping Suze tighter. "You got another arrow in there, sugar?"

[OOC: Feel free to puppet her for the actual boyfriend shooting, Te.]

The thing was pretty goddamn big, after all. While it was probably strong enough to knock trees right over, that'd certainly slow it down.
And maybe that'd give him time to line up a shot to its eye.

So far so good.
And the terrain is getting thicker. Good for escaping rampaging dinos.
Bad for pretty much all his other jobs.
He isn't sure how exactly they got from point A to B. He started to feel his balance go down, and didn't want to hurt Suze. Not more than she already would be.
T-rex was behind. So he threw her forward.
Which would have probably worked well if she hadn't be letting an arrow go at the same time.
"Shit."
no subject
That was her arrow sticking out from his chest, her arrow that must have pierced a goddamn lung or something because look at all the blood coming out of his mouth, oh Eddie, oh God, oh no.
(Oh Discordia!)
"I'm sorry," she whispers, blinking away tears. "Oh Eddie, honey, I'm so sorry."
no subject
He didn't know if they were friends or something more but it was horrible either way.
But there was nothing that could save him now, so Guy tugged at her elbow to make sure she'd keep moving despite what just happened.
"Come on!"
annnnnd I'm out.
Eddie, eyes glazing over, looked down at the arrow and laughed.
"Good...shot." He feel forward, before looking up at Suze. "Go. Now."
i'm sorry about susannah, so very sorry
The Susannah darts forward, kisses his cheek, and pulls back before yelling, in a voice and accent that sounds way more like Detta's than should be comfortable. "Whatchu lookin' at, you ugly lizard mahfah? I outlived my man once before an' I'm shore not doin' that agin. C'mon, you yella dino, EAT ME."
no subject
"You need to run! You have to at least try to -"

But he ran because he knew she was serious and tried to ignore the noises that came after.
Later when he had set up a trap with the coil of metal wire he'd gotten and the spikes of wood, he tried not to think about the despair in those words.
'I was done for a long time ago.'
