"It is just friendship, Sir. I think Howard thought - I let him think... But, should Montparnasse come. He would kill Howard for looking at me. He would kill anyone who looked. I am his - we are almost married at home. It is nice to be loved though. It was nice to think that someone really wanted me to be theirs."

She didn't look particularly thrilled with the idea of being married to Montparnasse, but it is just another of those things out of her control.
