Venus takes less than a minute to come to, and when she does, she wakes to pain. Her head lolls against Daniel's shoulder as he escapes the Cornucopia; a gob of spit rolls around in the back of her throat; her pupils make strange twitching motions as she blinks her eyes back into focus. The groan weaseling out of her lungs emerges nothing more than a confused, wordless whimper, a breath that happens to carry some of her voice to it.
She's in someone's arms. It's a strange feeling. Not one she's used to. And then, when she creaks her neck up - not easy, since her head feels as heavy as a cannonball - and looks at Daniel's face, the rest of the picture falls into place.
"What the fu-" Venus thrashes, struggling like a fish in a net, not graceful but full of desperate, disoriented energy. "Put me down!"
She has to get back to Cornucopia, at the very least. Possibly after she kills this guy. What in God's name is Specs doing carrying her around anyway?
