She reached out and put a hand on her forehead to check his temperature and
then slid it down to his neck to check his pulse. She closed her eyes,
trying, desperately trying, to reach out to the Force. The Force
would let her look into his body, to see the way that his organs were
faring, to seek out the dangerous poison that was shutting. It wasn't there
though, not even the Dark Side beckoning her to give into the fear and
outrage over the situation she was in. She was completely cut off from it.
"Ian..." she started, but she wasn't sure what to say that would fully help
him. He was in pain and dying and there was little she could do. Her grey
eyes were calm, but only in a practiced and trained kind of way that
insisted she not pass on her fear to the dying.
