The Tribute actually went part-sailing, part-barreling into and past him. She wasn't the only one surprised he'd managed to throw her. He couldn't believe that worked.! There was an extremely short moment of relief that he'd actually pulled the move off. Daniel staggered, nearly landing on his ass in the process. If his chances of sponsors weren't already dead and in the dust, chances were he was doing great at finishing the job.
