Momoko is disappointed but not surprised at the lack of details in Ariadne's answer. She'd hoped to know, of course, what Ariadne had managed to grab, but more than that she'd been wondering what it was like, killing for survival. Asking aloud would probably be too gruesome, though, and already Momoko is feeling constrained by her act.

"I didn't try," says Momoko. "Too risky, for me." She tightens her grip on the can, more relieved than she'd like to admit to have this one, small lifeline.
