It isn't much of a risk, then, to put his gun away and launch himself at the two, wanting his movement to push them both toward the door of the little shack sitting open and abandoned not too far away but mostly aiming to get his hand around the Psiionic's wrist, slam that knife into either the wall of that nearby shack or into the ground, and lean in close enough to murmur into the man's ear.
