Jack laughs lightly, heaving his weight against the boat's nose to push it out into the water. "There ain't all too much to it, lad. I wager you'll pick it up quick." Once it's far enough out that the boat begins to lift and bob in the small waves, Jack plods through the knee-deep water and hauls himself into the boat with Firo.

He settles into his seat, extending a hand out for an oar. "I'll take this side an' you take the other. Dip the oar in front of yourself then pull it towards yourself, like your pushin' the water away."
