He wasn't about to start letting his guard down just because someone didn't look immediately threatening. Anyone could practice enough to learn any combat skill, and hell, anyone could lift a rock and drop it on someone's head. But truthfully, always being afraid of everyone and everything was taking quite a toll on him, and it was exhausting.

So even though she was saying so, Jeremy wasn't sure about trusting just yet. But he also wasn't sure if people would introduce themselves to someone before killing them, either.
