Just as obvious as the other tribute's condition is Roland's reaction to it. Dismay - how in the world hadn't he heard that coming? - and disgust. Here's one who doesn't care at all about making himself weak and vulnerable where they all ought to stay sharp, and either doesn't care that he's lost his dignity playing to the cameras or doesn't realize he's done it.
