If there's a part of Thor that acknowledges the anguish in Steve's voice, it isn't visible now. He is momentarily pleased with the way Steve falls under his foot, but that soon dissipates when he bounces back fast. Steve is a formidable foe and the environment isn't working in his favor.

The kick works to keep him at bay for the moment. So much so that he very nearly slips whilst rearing up. Like with Bucky, he realises his advantage is in his ability to be an imposition. If he can get Steve down, keeping him down shouldn't prove difficult.

He doesn't need steady traction to make his move, though it puts a clumsy edge on it. He lurches forward fast, moving into Steve's personal space and angling to knock him down with the force of his body weight.
