Albert almost calls him back instead, tells him to group up with himself and Jet at the treehouse that they'll share their supplies and such and keep him alive, but something stops him. He's not sure what. Maybe because Dave had mentioned a girlfriend and far be it from Albert to stop Dave from finding her, or maybe because he just doesn't really know how to handle young people. Either way, Dave's let go with little more than a wave back and a "see you then."

Almost as if this was as simple as running into someone in the park instead of in the middle of an ice age deathmatch. It's strange and a little frightening what a person can get used to.
