He'd be less emotionally compromised, at the very least. He thought of running outside, turning his face up to the sky, and pleading at Signless, who surely must be watching, telling him that he'd tried, but he just couldn't do this.

Other than outright killing, doing what Signless would ask was the best way Psii knew to spite highbloods.
