Haruto does a startled double-take when Iskierka shows herself, for it takes him a moment to remember things like 'I know this dragon' and 'this dragon isn't bad' and 'since when were dragons part of a glacial landscape, anyway'. But during that moment he does manage to leap closer to Gary trajectory and put an arm up as though he was prepared to defend him. Hero reflexes, after all.
