The two girls were a tangle of arms and legs and Ruffnut crashed ontop of Eponine and flailed to get free, even going so far as planting a foot on Eponine's face as she clambered over the french girl to get away.

This messy display of panic did nothing to slow down the chicken monster who lurched forward flailing it's powerful arms trying to grab either of them.
