You took my hand from the smoking gun

Who| Initiate and Sandy
What| Two kids catch up, one who's conditioning is nearly worn down, the other who's just getting started on her changes
Where| The foodcourt
When| Week five
WARNINGS| Avoxing/avoxes.

The foodcourt has already proven to be a dangerous place. There are still scorch makes left from the explosions, marks of gore, all on the parts where the roombas couldn't reach. His other self ain't here no more, killed at some point whilst he was gone. Neither of the other Kankris are there either.

But he's an Alternian and his own hive was decorated with blood. He's not going to be deterred by things as simple as that. Not this far in the game. And he really, really wants a soda. He doesn't wait this time for the other remaining avoxes to come out and deliver. He goes to the fountain drinks, grabs himself a cup and a straw, and downs that fizzy miracle. He can't taste it very well, only the slightest trace, but it's good enough and it's something to drink while everyone goes slowly mad from the water. And it's something he familiar he can hang onto while he waits for Terezi to return from whatever mysterious mission he has to embark upon.

And that's all he's thinking until he finds the pile still just a bit there, the roombas not having yet taken it all apart. And at the top of it, the pens and paper Kurloz left. There's a long moment of pause. He's already disobeyed beyond what's imaginable; he killed a tribute, and he can't undo that.

But... he can't undo that. He's going to be punished even beyond his own panic, as soon as he's out of the arena, surely. So why not this? With his pusher pounding, he takes up the notepad and pen. He hasn't got anyone what to talk to here, with Terezi gone, but he can just wait until she's back.

Or he can get caught standing here.

He hears the noise from behind and turns around fast, even knowing it will make no difference-- he culled one tribute but he won't be able to cull another one. Not after how it felt.
