Rocket's not afraid of blades. They tend not to fly as quickly as bullets or lasers, and they can be deflected. So deflect them he does, using the side of his gun as well as the shoe blade once he has it pulled out. He does, of course, have to do some actual dodging as well. But instead of moving away from his target, he pushes closer.

The path he takes is zigzagged, darting one way for a few feet, then another way, then another. But still, he presses ever closer, using the size of his gun to shield him as best as he can. There's no time to load up another shot, but he still has his grenades...
