Terezi exhales, offering him a small smile--a first for her as well. He's not mad then, at least not enough to want to leave. She's glad for that much. And she's glad enough that he was able to answer. Carefully, she steps up to him again and takes his hands in hers.

What she really wants and what she intends is to protect him. It's her responsibility. She won't let the Capitol continue to hurt him. Her hands squeeze his, trying to make a comforting gesture of it. And then quieter, she adds: "I need you here, Kurloz. I can't do this without you. So don't leave me alone again... okay?"
