"It's been too long since I've made decisions for anyone else," he says, and then it strikes him that maybe - maybe - she's following his thoughts a little better than anyone else would. Following them the way she used to, back when the five of them were one. When he'd first arrived in Panem she'd mentioned sharing khef and he hadn't believed that they could, and he still balks at the idea- but it's probably only that she knows him, knows him still, and that thought might be more warming than the first.
"But your choice is your own, and I'll respect it." He squeezes her hand in return and keeps walking. "If you do lose them, though, I'll do whatever I have to to get them back."
