He hadn't expected anyone would come to his defense, not even Natasha, so honestly Vriska's arrival was a surprise Truth be told, Matt was a little ashamed that the troll girl had managed to catch him unawares. He could defend himself well enough (he was a superhero, after all) but he could appreciate and be impressed by her prowess and show of dominating skill. He didn't pause in his own battle, however. She'd taken out the one, but there were a couple other spiders sneaking and creeping around.

Teeth clenched in rage, he swung the crowbar, smashing one spider right through the gooey, insecty head. It made a hideous squishing noise upon contact.
