He keeps his eyes trained on their opponent but Gannicus can see in the background how Nasir moves. They don't need to speak, they don't need to even directly look at each other; Gannicus knows how the other man moves, he can guess his reactions and where he will aim. It's a useful skill that will stand him in good stead now.

Thor swings backwards towards Nasir and Gannicus takes that moment to press forward with his own attack, a second swing of the pipe to the knees that comes a little quicker and a little sharper than before. Big men fall hard, in Gannicus's experience, and he's keen to bring Thor a little closer to their own (considerably shorter) height.
