Albert doesn't intend to get in the way but he doesn't much have the emotional faculties to intend anything just at present. Jet is dead. Murdered. Entrails staining the second floor hall just in front of one of the dioramas and Albert's mind keeps fading back to that little smile he'd been given, the innocent little smile as blood flecked his lips and the light faded from his eyes. That gentle, loving smile to show he was glad to see Albert. He was glad he didn't have to die alone.

And Albert has no idea who did it.

So while he doesn't intend to get in the way at this point - the broad German barely taking any kind of cover as he makes mechanical strides towards the now-open elevator - he doesn't really seem much aware of anything other than making a b-line for something nice and explosive, completely missing the gray alien streaking towards the elevator to his right.

If they're all going to die anyway, he may as well take as many as he can out with him.
