Kaidan hears the faint whisper of fabric moving. It's slight and far away, probably just his imagination-- but it hadn't been with Garrus. This time Kaidan might not be as lucky. He turns just a slight way to where he heard the sound, keeping his head ducked and hoping whoever is out there was friendly. That's painfully optimistic, so Kaidan keeps his biotics on the line, ignoring the way his implants shoot off in pain automatically. He hasn't had a chance to use them in full, not yet, and he's not looking forward to it.
